Yeah we use a serrated kichten type knife to cut it. Works great for fire proofing to, you can put a blow torch on on side of it and have your bare hand on the other side and not get burned. They call stomewool insulation sometime as well

Damn bro you lost your 4 weeks off? Much respect to you my friend. No disrespect but don’t chase that dollar to much. I did it for over 2 years driving over the road weeks at a time. Came home one week with divorce papers sitting on the counter signed by her with a pen on top. A note that said I can’t do it anymore. I need my husband and my kids father home more. Either come home or me and the kids are moving. Needless to say less then a month later I got a local job and haven’t left since. That was 15 years ago.

no disrespect taken mate, what your saying is 100% right and its stuff me and the missus speak about. this is a quick repair i will be home in 4 or 5 days. as you know this kind of life is a double edged sword. u say no to many times and someone else slips into your position.. you say yes to many times and ur family slips away from you.

we have spoken about this as we have another baby on the way and decided that i will take every job for the next 9months and then have the time at home when the bub is born. then who knws i may stay home for 12 months and work local like i did when my first bub was born

i appreciate your advice and exprience. thank you

Lol do I ever know. I catch myself taking work 7 days a week and running the shit out myself and my guys because I can’t stand to say no to my customers.
Good for you brother. I don’t know you personally but I know any man that has the work ethic like you do and works away from home has to be a good dude. Keep that grind going for your family. They grow up fast lol.

there u go, flew 1600km's to do one shifts work lol 1 day travel, 1 day inductions/blood test, 1 shift of work, 1 day exit blood test, 1 day travel home
