Construction thread... Show off your work!

begun the spraying yesterday. first layer 200mm of insulation. my job is to trowel it and to communicate with the operator. he is on the ground floor and we are on level 6. u will see me pressing that button. that is connected to a bell. so he will hear the bell and know what to do

1 bell feed off/ air off
2 bells air on/ air up
3 bells air down
4 bells feed on/feed up
5 bells feed down
6 bells empty hopper (run the gun out)
7 bells run for your life the nozzleman is coming down to bash you (true)

in the video i had already done 2 bells for air on.. then 4 bells for feed on (u will see the last 3 presses) then u will here the change on sound out the nozzle thats the feed coming.. water is controlled by the nozzleman at the nozzle with a tap.

Fuck that. Looks like shotcrete just a lot itchier and in a confined space. Dam @kap73 what dont you do? If you were by me I would be harassing you to come work for us.

its not that bad, and its actually not itchy at all.. mind you the rebound hurts tho.. similar to sand blasting and after 5mins ur safety glasses are covered in shit so you ditch them and close ur eyes lol

to be honest mate i do anything that will support my family, i get paid to work so once i sign the prestart i do what im told to the best of my ability.. i listen to the older fellas and soak in anything that will better me.

speaking of family i found out last night i have another kid on the way :)

Congrats @kap, like @movingiron88 when I first started the vid it reminded me of shotcrete also. Seems like a messy job, I used to work in the coal mines, your work seems somewhat similar due to the confined working spaces

cheers mate

its is similar to shotcrete, this stuff is sprayed at a higher pressure and theres more rebound. its called dry gunning, meaning the bags are pumped by air to the nozzle dry and at the nozzle water is added.. we do shotcrete aswell i love that shit, but u need more men. thats pre-mixed and put in a concrete pump and pumped to the nozzle then at the nozzle an activater is added which sets it
off almost instantly..

its all good fun tho :)

That's my life right there. For the past 2 years I've been getting up at 1:50am to hit the gym before work. It's worth it for me so I can get home 5:30pm to spend a few hours with my family and get to bed early to do it all again.

It's amazing how well the we adapt to things.

When I use to train after work I would always find a reason to not go. I wasnt nearly as consistant as I am now. But my job isnt as strenuous as it used to be and most definetly is not as tough as yours. Just said screw it and changed my schedule a little bit to make it sustainable. It helps me wake up in the morning and gets me going. Now if I miss before work it makes me feel lazy.

ahhh that stuff makes me itchy just looking at it lol u love your job i can tell... its good to see mate i appreciate ppl who take there jobs seriously
Thanks man, I do enjoy it. Some parts more than .others. kicked some serious ass yesterday that always feels good regardless of what I am doing that day. The yellow stuff is pretty itchy, green stuff is to, but don't need to handle it so close to your body, so it is easier to avoid the itch.

its funny i find it harder to train after an easy day, when i have a real hard shifts i have my body pumping and i take that aggression to the gym. problem is its hard to maintain for weeks on end.
