Cholesterol numbers on no med, then on statin then on statin + Repatha

Even less from Costplus ;)

The recommendation is 2g 2x a day, which makes it 4x1g pills a day.
And 90x4=360 for 3 months.

Cost plus is 30$, 90 pills, which makes it ~$120 for 360.

My insurance will cover it full, but I see no way to get it prescribed unless i have hypertrigs lol

High Tryg. are also an indication for a insulin resistance creeping up or nafd hiding, maybe you can argue that its just a proactive measure considering its a family issue?

Don't forget acquiring a prescription often comes with a cost as well though, when figuring out per dose price.

This would require an exceptionally liberal primary care doc, a cooperative cardiologist (who should be happy to accommodate anyone who wants to use it), or one of the longevity focused telemedicine services.

Mines nowhere high, I know trigs spike when you eat a meal..but even so it won't be high enough

Currently a 30 day supply (it equates out to 22 day supply for 90 at 4x a day) is ~47 dollars and no long transit from India. 47x3 = $141. Am I mathing wrong? (also when i checked with most of the india pharms none carried it)

Nope I think we're about right, I think it comes out to 35 something for 22 days supply all in. the shipping is 5 bucks i think? and if you want expedited more. I wasn't able to find an india pharma who carried besides shady looking india mart stuff.

Currently paying $45 / 120 x 1mg bottle of name brand Vascepa from India. Shipping isn't free, but I've always got boxes coming anyway so it's no real additional cost.

You can get the named brand for 9$/3 months with a savings card, if you get it prescribed in the US..I'm gonna try my luck with some teledocs..

Only if it's covered by insurance.

If your insurance isn't covering any of the cost (because you don't qualify via the pre authorization requirements), or you're cash pay, it doesn't apply, unfortunately.

When i mentioned REDUCE-IT, JELIS, and a couple reviews of the pleitropic effects my cardiologist said "say no more prescribed" just to keep in mind for the telehealth visits should you need to brow beat.

TelyRX sells 360 pills of 1mg for $120. I’m not sure if thats a great price but its a real prescription and gets delivered in 3 days.

You have had MI, so you immediately quality under FDA guidelines i assume.

VASCEPA is a prescription medicine used:
along with certain medicines (statins) to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and certain types of heart issues requiring hospitalization in adults with heart (cardiovascular) disease, or diabetes and 2 or more additional risk factors for heart disease

Basically (1) Heart disease or (2) Diabetes and 2 or more risk factors

Great price since it comes with prescription.
Do the bottles themselves come with the prescription label?

Might be easier to get refilled vs a new prescription.

Oh yeah for sure, I tend to have an easier time as long as I have done the looking into when it comes to things because otherwise my cardiologist will say "but why do you want that? what benefit do you think it will produce?" I am looking into the pitavastatin as a potential add on if i can tolerate it, rosuvastatin was nightmarish.

Yeah that's a great idea. I find primary care providers are often willing to pick up refills from an existing telemedicine prescription if you bring the bottle in.
