carb cycling on cycle???

Hey man... I'm certainly not an expert, but if you're going to experiment with carb loading, I'd recommend a lot less than every other day. Go very low/no carb 3-6 days in a row, load up on carbs one or two at the most, days a week. Even then, include as much high intensity excercise every day as much as you can, so you're using up as much of your "stores" as you can, and even on load up days, don't go overboard.

Also, (this is a little "trick" I use and enjoy) if your low/no carb, or low calories meals are leaving you unsatisfied, throw in a salt and peppered boiled egg, and a spicy pickle spear.

My wife and I keep about a dozen boiled eggs peeled and spiced in our fridge, and a bottle of spicy pickle spears. They can make a "boring" meal a lot more enjoyable and satisfying.

By the way, I scanned the particular article you linked, and I can tell you this, a whole lot of people don't need as much carbs as most places reccomend, to function properly. Myself and a lot of other people I know and work with, as well as workout with, get by even more comfortably with A LOT less carbs.

There's a big misconception about fat, fat is not your enemy, you get a lot of energy from fat, and it helps you function properly. Don't be afraid prolonged periods of low/no carbs. Throw a little peanut butter/nuts/avacodos in your life for the energy.

Check out paleo diets, zone diets, and carb loading, and make a hybrid of them that works well for you and your needs.

That being said, there are a few individulas that get cranky without carbs, I stay away from people like that so I don't have to slap the shit out of them if they get cranky with me.;)

If your getting fat and bloated maybe your Adex is too low. It might be estrogen sides. Yes carb cycling can work but if your goal is to gain size carbs are a must. I would check if it's your estrogen first. If you don't tolerate carbs well you can try carb cycling in micro cycles. 4 weeks high one week low etc. to regain your insulin sensitivity.

will be getting bloods hopefully by Wednesday. that will tell me is my e is too high. I just started taking adex just a week ago so maybe I let it get too high? idk. thanks for your input I will look into those diets.

I do low carb diets a lot big fan. Currently switched from keto to carbs eod and loving it still look lean and my workouts go better. I workout heavy on carb days light on no carbs.

Physiologically we don't need carbs at all to survive or function properly but there's a reason most athletes don't do Paleo or any of the other low carb diets, namely that most of them cannot function at the high level required with a low carb intake.

that's understandable. thing is that my gut is STILL there. I'm eating healthy carbs and even cut down on them (brown rice, whole wheat bread and pasta etc) but the little belly wont go away. I also feel very bloated after I eat. when I eat anything really but feels worse when I eat carbs. I feel like I have maybe an inch or less of fat around my belly area when standing. seated I don't even wanna know!

today I went low carb and had 4 eggs and a isopure non carb shake for bfast 50g protein in shake alone and for snacks I had carrots. lunch I had a citrus salad and a 1/4 chicken, snack again was a no carb cheese stick with a bunch of turkey ham?(real good). tried celery sticks and I'm convinced that when people say they "eat that a lot" they are lying. most disgusting thing ive ever eaten! dinner was a salad and pork chops. also another isopure shake after heavy leg day.

So just wanna say your fat thickness doesn't change from standing to sitting. Also it's not the type of carbs or how much carbs that's making you have an inch of fat it is the total calories. Want less fat then eat less food just simply changing a macronutrients without going into a cal deficit won't change your body's fat %

ive not been "hungry" at all today, with all that. tomorrow I'm looking for b fast a couple eggs, a bowl of oatmeal and oj. pb&j sandwich with heat bread for snack and lunch likely 2 chicken breasts with brown rice and black beans.. dinner idk wife has to surprise me.. maybe fish? I think I'm eating pretty clean.

I mean when I'm seated the fat is not extended it can be grabbed from top to bottom and seems worse. my calories shouldn't be that bad but I'm also on test e 600mg /wk so I NEED calories.

I'm 5'9" started at around 186 I'm currently at around 199lbs. id like to put on some size if possible and hopefully shed this small amount of fat. its really only in my mid section. everywhere else I'm good. starting to see some growth already mostly triceps and traps.

Okay so you have two options 1) put on size = calorie surplus 2) shed the fat = calorie deficit. If you try for both you will just be half assing 2 things it's better to full ass 1 thing the results will be way better. So it's up to you which you want more.

I see what you mean. that's why I'm trying the carb cycling. I'm still eating a ton just not as many carbs. protein is still up there. thanks for the input

Carb cycling without a calorie deficit still won't cut fat. You may lose a few pounds from water but that is it.

I used to be carb phobic just like you until I realized it's all about the calories over all. Yes low carb kept me feeling leaner but it's just the loss of water. you need to pick a goal. If you try to do both cutting and bulking you will be spinning your weels. You can cut with carbs just fine. As long as your in a caloric deficit. It seams like the your bf bothers you. Lean down with a 500 cal deficit and when your lean enough increase your calories and keep carbs in at a decent amount. You utilize carbs better when your leaner anyway. Doc is the one who shifted me away from low carbs. Thanks doc. Cutting now with a 500 cal. Deficit 150-200g carbs a day and I'm leaning up nicely while gym performance stays good. Low carb sucked balls for me at the gym.
