can’t stay asleep

hey all,

been dealing with not being able to stay asleep, and more recently, falling asleep, albeit i don’t see it as much of an issue. i get 4-5 hours of poor sleep and feel mid throughout the day.

stats:
6ft, 185lbs (around 12% BF)

my stack:
300 test (started with 200, slept fine on it) still sleep fine since upping
2mg tesamorelin pre bed
3mg tirz weekly

adding soon
70mg tren ace weekly

adding tren has me worried for how my sleep quality may end up.

i haven’t been able to consistently stay asleep and always wake up around 2-4 am, with my bedtime being 9pm. i believe i might be having a cortisol spike in the morning but I’m unsure what could be causing it. i eat a TBSP of honey pre bed to steer away from any possible hypoglycemic wakings. i also wake several times throughout the night to pee, even with being conservative of fluid intake after 3pm.

additionally, i haven’t been able to get good deep sleep (according to my apple watch)

i’ve taken:
400-1.2g magnesium glys pre bed (not much effect)
400mg l-theanine
5-htp
2-3g GABA
1200mg ashwaghanda (lowered my cortisol under the ref. range!)

i have trazodone and gabapentin on hand but i don’t want to start relying on them to sleep. i want to see if there’s any other drugs, tips or supplements that could help this sleep issue.

other stats:
training 6x a week
no anxiety, i feel kickass
eating in a slight surplus~ maintenance
5-10k steps daily
always wake and sleep at same time
I go hypo all the time, happened last night in fact. Not using slin or HGH it's a natural thing for me. I can tell you honey is the last thing on earth I would eat before going to sleep. First the spike in blood sugar is going to keep you up second you are more likely to wake up with low blood sugar not less likely. I'm assuming you go hypo naturally like i do. Try a protein shake before bed with almond milk instead of water. Works for me. And you need some fat, butter on bread I like. Peanut butter is great. In fact I scarf down on peanut butter and honey pretty much every time I get up at night to pee or with a throbbing hard on whatever the case may be. Try honey and peanut butter.

I fixed a lot of sleep issues by exposing myself to controlled novel/stressful/panic inducing situations more regularly. Makes your resting state calmer due to brain learning prediction errors. Like inducing c02 spikes in aquatic environments to make c02 panic emerge. Worked better than sleep aids.

I did the experiment with blood glucose and overnight hypoglycemic incidents, I was going hypo in the middle of the night, so I started eating a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of 2% fair life milk before bed and that kept my blood glucose levels steady throughout the night. All this was tracked using a CGM.

Yeah that's a cleaner way to do it I guess. My metabolism is too fucking fast for oatmeal. I lose size without a lot of junk in my diet.

No self hypnosis? Slacker.

Any improvements in sleep from the experiment? Or difference in general

Honestly no , and we're still currently in a deep dive with DSIP , it's been couple weeks now , still trying to find that sweet spot as far as dosing goes lol , but my take on it so far is it is a lackluster peptide maybe it works for some people, but not me so far

Using a GLP, I honestly don't think that will happen but I I guess its a probability.
Still happens to me on Reta when I stay up too long after taking traz and lunesta lol.

Also it was either placebo or the tren but during that night i still woke up & smashed 100g of carbs! The tren other than initially on 25mg a day hasn't done that with me , all whilst jst titrating up to 6mg reta!
My experience with Mirtazipan was the same. I believe I was seeing my dr every 2 weeks and when I saw them next after starting I handed them the bottle and said im not taking that shit anymore b/c of alarmingly quick weight gain. I dont remember the dosage but im sure it was a starting dose for sleep.

It sucks but this is honestly more a trial and error situation than what is the best compound. I went through the whole psych book of treatments before landing on my current regime. For sleep, For Depression/Anxiety, For adhd. Depression meds are the worst, atleast sleep and adhd are quick with mainly just one, max two dosage adjustments.

Trazadone it's pretty easy to tolerate. I take 300 mg every night and without it I would not be able to get to sleep. I haven't noticed any weight gain from it and I've been taking it for 10 years. And I don't wake up groggy, but that could be because I've been taking it for so long.

Trazadone is great. Ive been taking 300mg nightly for years. I dont get any weight gain from it, but it makes my stomach feel like a blackhole if I stay up too long after taking it. I just went down to 150mg traz 5 weeks ago and has been okay, still getting to sleep fine. Maybe takes a little longer

Yeah, It can give you the cravings for some junk food in the middle of the night if you're not careful lol, must keep them out of reach...

You could also consider one of the DORA like Dayvigo/Lemborexant. It essentially blocks / competes for orexin receptors which means you miss the wakeup call your body puts put.

My personal experience with it has been good/effective.

Probably available at your whichever your favorite India pharmacy is.

Do you still sleep the same amount of time or do you find you sleep longer on it? My initial thoughts are that without that wake up signal im going to have a sluggish morning. Do you have any issues with that or wake up ready to go?

It gets me to about 6 hours from 3 unless my bladder argues otherwise and then up i go. Much preferred to ambien, sedatives, antihistamines, etc. i dont personally get a hangover from it.

There is a newer DORA, daridorexant, that isnt easily accessible in the India pharmacy world that ive seen yet. It has a shorter half life for those who need that.

Its an option you could try cheaply and the pills are cuttable if you want to put a pinky toe in instead of jumping all the way in.
