Hello,

I've been wanting to grow insane size calves Bern searching and watching some YouTube videos on how to do it.
Most answers I found were train calves every day 2 to 4 exerce 30 reps 2 to 3 sets.
Now I'm wondering wouldn't that be overtraining and not let my calves grow as they're supposed to ?

Follow the calf training as outlined in John Meadows sentinel program and the most important thing is to stretch the fuck out of them and stick roll/foam roll/ or deep massage them daily

Then ta better look at mom and dad bc much of calf growth is genetics.

Damn. My dad has big calves and I got stuck with my moms genes for the most part.

I generally hit calves as my first exercise on leg days and then continuously hit them between sets of most exercises. Seated and standing, toes in/out/neutral, high reps with a concentration on the squeeze.

I hit calves 2 or 3 times a week. Standing calf raise machine 4 or 5 sets higer reps 10 to 20reps. Raise up high and hold for a few seconds, nice and slow down. im not a big fan of the seated calf raise but i throw it in from time to time. I have a weird shaped calf where my inner calf looks meatier than the outer head. So i play around with foot placement on raises to hit the outer calf.

Moms got them big dads normal mine came out normal but I want to get them insanely big even if I have to inject synthol in it

If you work them out they will grow. Do them eod. Thats what I felt worked great. Just throw them in at the end of your workout. I di seated horizontal, seated vertical, and standing. But I get weird marks on my shoulders when I do the standing machine.

Why are they genetics. Thats like saying if I have small arms, Small chest or Small back , I can't grow those parts due to genetics? Calf is a muscle like those muscles that if you work them out they grow.

I've tried a hundred methods, only thing that they're responding to is the daily training as outlined in John's program. It's a different calf exercise every day. Different tempo, timed squeezes, timed stretches, partials, etc

Do you have a link ?

Yes. That's what he's saying. Your genes limit your growth, hence the need for AAS to push you past genetic limitations.
Yet you'll still have those limits on things such as muscle bellies, insertion points, etc. Just like some people have low calves, some have high calves, low lat insertions where they seem to come out of your hips as opposed to lats that start higher up... Genetics bro.

If your parents both have small arms, you most likely are not going to have arms as your most prominent body part, or calves, or quads..

Firstly, good luck OVER training calves... Calves get abused daily... with a proper warmup and stretch, you really CAN'T overtrain them...

I train them every day I lift... I do large/long sets of 30, drop sets, heavy sets, you name it... Different shit every day. And, guess what?! They grow! People don't train them hard enough, or frequently enough... Simple as that.

Less this ^^^, my calves also blow up when I train them ed. I just started to train them eod, because I started to focus on core and arms more.

So basically you're advising me to train them every day ?
I really don't mind putting in extra 15 minutes for 2 to 3 types of different exercises and 2 to 3 sets with 30 reps each. I was just wondering because I read somewhere if you overtrain any part of the muscle it won't grow as it should be because the muscle needs rest.

Try it man! It won't hurt... Do you lift every day? If yes, (which I'd advise against already), do calves 5x a week.

The whole "overtraining" myth/legend is getting old. Each muscle/group is different and can handle more, or less, abuse than others. Also, pain threshold... Good luck overtraining calves, they will hurt beyond belief if you even start to get close.

Why are you fixated on 30 reps? This is silly.

Idk man 30 reps sounds reasonable. And I work out 6 days a week. 3 days in one day out.

Okay, do your 30 reps. Totally made sense to ask the group, if you already know what rep ranges are ideal for calf growth. Next time you have a question, and feel you already know the answer, please avoid making a thread about it.

Check back when your calves haven't grown and re-read my advice. That will cause your calves to grow.

I have never, ever, not even once, seen John Meadows recommend "foam rolling/stick rolling" any muscle group. I have Sentinel, where are you seeing this?

Correct. Calves & forearms can be trained everyday . Tough stubborn muscles they are . Alot of greats did or still do everyday or 5x week . I used to , got lazy ;)
