Blended food still gets digested ?

Due to health issues I have to blend my meals, my main concern is are they still getting absorbed like solids ?

For instance, chicken and rice blended till it's smooth with added cacao powder for flavour, all my meals have to be blended but I feel iv lost a lot of weight so want to double calories

My issue is each meal ends up around 1 litre of liquid and my 6 meals are made in to 4 , apart from oats what can I add to make each drink / meal a thousand calories or more so I'm getting at least 5k calories

Can't use oats they cause the worst gas that's very painful, for carbs I'm using white rice, rice powder for my post workout shake and also using buckwheat and quinoa, is it just a matter of doubling up on amounts ?

Blended food will still get digested, yes. Potentially even better than whole food, depending on how well you chew. Many people don't chew their food well enough and they stifle to digest it fully or wind up with indigestion and bloating and gas.

"Chew your liquids and drink your food" - a saying I like that says all our foods should be the same consistency before we swallow them.

The enzymes in saliva are still a critical part of digestion, so don't assume just because it's blended that you can gulp it down. Take a drink or big spoonful, "chew it" for a bit, then swallow. The act of trading and chatting causes us to salivate. Plus it'll force you to eat slower which is better for digestion and helps you feel more full. You may find you still have some chunks in your shake, depending on your blender quality and how long you blend it for.

Regardless, yeah you will be fine.

Edit: I wouldn't just eat "protein shakes" every meal. Find a way to blend up something like chicken, sweet potatoes, peas, and broccoli with a tbsp of coconut amino (dot sauce alternative) or something else to help make it tasty. Greek yogurt with some fruit and extra whey protein is delicious. Or thinks like that, that will taste good blended, aren't the same meal every and will give you what you need.

What kind of disease do you have? And maybe some enzymes will help?

How right you are. Damn, how are you right) I myself sinned, swallowed and ate quickly and had problems with digestion and assimilation of food. But as soon as he stopped rushing, chew food thoroughly and the main thing is the drinking regimen and added vegetables to the diet. The body is working. Thank you for writing and sharing your experience
