No I love Peta because I love pets. I don't really care as much about chickens but not much gets me more upset then when I see some white-trash owner abusing their poor, defenseless pet. The person who does that deserves cruel and unusual punishment if you ask me.

Agreed....I can't stand animal cruelty. I think the punishments should be much more harsh than they are.

I am a huge animal lover and hate to see any type of animal abused. But I am totally against PETA.

I'm not saying get rid of the 2nd amendment. There are far too many guns in circulation for that to happen. I don't mind individuals owning them as long as they keep it on their property. If some burglar breaks into your home, I beg you to put a cap in his ass. I just don't want to see them on the streets.

BTW, the 2nd ammendment is the "reset button" on the constitution. If the government gets out of hands, armed citizens can take a stand. Good luck taking a stand against an armed government with a pocketknife.

I think Peta goes waaayyy too far in some of their protests. I don't think people should be demonized for drinking milk....I wish PETA should focus their efforst on cases of severe animal cruelty.

How do you feel about the verdict that sent a guy away to prison for 3 years for killing a bijon? (some type of poodle, I think)

Very true Frosty. Thomas Jefferson said it best:

"The beauty of the 2nd Amendment is that you will not need it until they [the government] try to take it from you".

Whoa, let me quote you back sir. According to Frosty, "because lots of blacks commit crimes?" Now for the record I did not say that.

First of all, I never think that. I demand a heartfelt apology Mr.

What was the circumstances surrounding the case??? Did he torture the animal?? If so, then I think he should have gotten more than 3 years.

I saw a thing on Maury Povich one day about this. I think there was about 3-5 teenagers (aged like 15-18) who took a small puppy that weighed about 5 pounds, put it in a trash bag, lit the bag on fire, and took turns tossing it up and hitting the dog/bag with a ball bat.

They videotaped the whole thing. What was really disturbing was that the kids parents kept saying "it's just a dog, what's the big deal"?? The kids got ZERO time as their state didn't really have any animal rights laws on the books.

IMO, they shold have been locked up!!!

The case with the 3 year sentance was about 3 years ago. The guy apparently grabbed the dog through an open window in a car (whos driver cut off this guy) and threw it on the side of the road. The dog proceeded to run onto the highway and die. He got 3 years for that.

Well maybe I am misinformed about what PETA does. I am already the Meso Sports Expert so it's difficult in life to be an expert in multiple fields.

Nobody is a bigger milk drinker then me. On Friday when I left work, I had this co-worker that I never met laugh at me for carrying a jug out to my car- oh it's true. I've almost finished off a brand new gallon today and I still have not had dinner.

Milk rules!

I never said you did.

I said it's stupid to "love" a group JUST because you're against animal abuse. It's a valid point, but it's stupid to "love" the group JUST because of that. One could argue that blacks do commit a disproportionate amount of crimes, and that family values are being destroyed. Does that mean you should love the KKK??? Not hardly!

PETA is a dispicable group. They lie, commit crimes, and harass people just for eating animal products. Who the FUCK am I hurting by eating eggs and drinking milks?? They hate for that reason. They want to take away my RIGHTS to eat my natural diet. PETA is a horrible evil group.

I think 3 years is fair to be honest with ya' Bob.What would you do if that happened to your dog??

I just put my 3 year old yellow lab to sleep last week because it had been fighting cancer since April. If anyone ever hurt that dog, I swear on my life, I'd fucking kill them!!!

And please understand taht I'm not saying these guys need to be locked up in a Max securtiy prison wiht the rapists and killers. They can be locked up in minimum security facilities.

And lets not forget that most of the known serial killers are known to have mutilated animals when they were younger.

Personally, I think the guy should have been fined and let go. It was a fluke. There was no intent to kill the dog and the animal ran into traffic on its own. IMO, 3 years in prison for that is insane.

I love my animals and would protect them with all Ive got, but I wouldnt expect someone to serve prison time if they killed one of them.

I am all for protecting animals from abuse. What bothers me is that animals are now ending up with the same rights as humans, with similar punishments for people who abuse animals and people who abuse kids. Thats just fucked up, plain and simple. An animal is not a human and does not have human rights, nor do they deserve them. Its a sad day when a guy who accidentally kills a dog gets more time in prison than someone who kills a family while driving drunk. How is that justice?

Bob, I agree with you. But I"m not talking about "accidents" here...I'm talking about blatant cruelty in which humans purposely torture animals for their own amusement.

And the reason I feel so strongly is that this behavior is highly abnormal and often leads to becoming a violent human...they are not entirely independent of each other. If locking someone up as a teenager to get them counselling after they have mutilated a puppy can save them from becoming violent toward humans later in life, I am all for it.
