Advice On Diet Please

Does he not post frequently?

On this forum he doesn't post much. We crossed paths on another forum years ago and now we're on two other boards together also. He is a wealth of information and I have a great deal of respect for him. I've learned a lot from him.

So, I did a little bit of research last night and came up with these good carbs to take instead of whole grains to see if it helps my current situation with my diverticulitis.
Bananas,Broccoli(Already eat), Apples(Already Eat), Pears, Leafy Greens, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Figs, Berries, and Squash. With that being said, should I switch out my rice for a sweet potato for my carbs as a more healthy carb? They seem to be low in the Glycemic index and supress the craving for sugars which leads to weight loss. My main question is, should I be incorporating all of these foods in my daily diet somehow to meet my required daily carbs due to cutting out my rice? Once again, I thank you all for your advice and support, you guys have been great. @Docd187123 @Wunderpus @MrRippedZilla

You can try adding anything you want but certain foods will be triggers for you. I would start by adding a few fruits and veggies that you currently don't eat. Wait a couple weeks and assess your condition. If all is ok add a few more. If you add a bunch of stuff you don't normally Eat to your diet in one shot and something triggers a reaction, it will be much harder to figure out what's causing your issues.

You do have a really good point, less variables to pinpoint the issue being caused. Thank you sir.

I understand that, but I feel full due to bloating due to my stomach disease... its a damn vicious circle. I'm going to cut out the rice and add sweet potatoes and more fruit and veggies to my meals though.
Sorry to hear about this condition.

Hey brother, I appreciate it. Only thing I can do is be positive and try to live life like a normal person. I'm like a damn cat with 9 lives. I survived a brain surgery with a 5% chance to even come through it also. Had to relearn how to walk and eat. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger.

Here's what I do, type it ALL out, add it ALL up and report back:

My boss has frequently suffered from diverticulitis. Removing irritants such as dairy and gluten can help A LOT.
I get so fucking angry and confused when consuming those, which is so sad.

You eat a good amount of fat. Are you following a percentage split that you've deduced based off how you respond to the macros?

Yep! I do very well on a high fat diet! I know everyone thinks fat makes you fat... Well, that has NEVER been the case for me. Carbs do...

I go a lot higher on fat than most, too. When I start getting tons of carbs I'll feel bloated and sleepy throughout the afternoon and evening.

I can agree with you also, but I'm going to try a very clean carb approach here soon and see how it does.
Clean carbs have always worked for me, and they are so much easier to digest. I love sweet potatoes, ezekiel bread, white and brown rice etc. For some reason, pasta inflames my stomach a bit, but dairy is insanely harmful to me. So, I generally avoid gluten mostly by coincidence, as I try to not make pasta or breads staples in my carbs.... with that, I tend to digest WAY better.

I do, however, think the whole "gluten" thing is very largely overplayed.

I am replacing my white rice with Sweet Potatos... I seem to bloat with any kind of grain.
