9 weeks out. Critique?

I will say, the typical format for saying something negative is to sandwich it between two good things lol

Very true, but....... I wasn't being "negative" I was giving you the direction and constructive criticism you asked for. Here's a teachable moment for you, you're not going to get answers that take your feelings into account on a PED based board filled with guys running full tilt cycles and in my case the middle of show prep. We tend to be a little short in the patience and temperament areas. :)

Good decision by the way. I'd much rather see you spend your time, efforts and money prepping to achieve a result you'll be proud of. On a positive, you're in good shape to start your prep for August.

I appreciate the insight from someone with your knowledge and experience. Hopefully by August I'll be a little better off than 1 week into a 16wk prep lol. I'm definitively going to put 100%. I think I have a check in today so hopefully the scale says good things.

So just wanted to update this and thank everyone for their honest critique. I'm currently less than 3 weeks out and in way better shape than I even thought I could be. Definitely need to push as hard as I can this last bit but I'm really excited.

@fodsod . thanks man I would have looked like an idiot up there. If you weren't as brutally honest, stepping up on stage could have ruined my passion for training.

I agree that you looked much further out than 9 weeks in the original pics, but let me just share a quick story...

My first show went bad. I placed second to last in novice heavyweight. I felt like an idiot, had no idea how to pose, no coach, not really a good diet as I more less starved myself and lost muscle. I got the photo enlarged and framed from the show just because I guess...wasnt necessarily proud.

That photo is my favorite photo now. Every time I see it all I can think is ,"man, look how far youve gotten since then. Nevermind the fact I didn't win, but I had no help, no supplements, and nobody showing up to watch me. I told myself that the only way I was gonna be a loser was if I didn't follow through with it.

My advice is to step up and pick a show and go through everything. You'll learn what you're made of.

Absolutely. Some times defeat is the best motivation. I'm glad you were able to dust yourself off and kick some ass.

I have actually picked a show. 19 days out. Show, hotel, tan are all booked. Its game time, no backing out now.

I’m glad to hear you’re on track for a end result you can be proud of. Being able to re-assess, be honest with yourself and make real changes based on your observations will carry you a long way in the competition world.

Keep us posted on your results man. We all dig seeing a MESO brother do well.

I suppose I should post a pic. 5 weeks out is the only one with my face edited. This is when I first saw shit really starting to come together. I'm currently 18 days out and this was 35 days out im just too lazy to edit a current one lol.

When I posted those first pics, I think I was roughly 200lbs. In this new pic I was 197, my coach did a hell of a job.

Nice chest pump, think I had half a donut that morning...
