Getting Scammed

If you've been around the boards for a while you know the drill. There are members that will take your money and run. They could be on the boards a lot and seem like you can trust them....... But can you?

A good source doesn't come to you. If you are contacted, you can pretty much bet that it's a scam in the process. There are ways to protect yourself. Ask for refs, PM long time / respected members or even Mods. I will be happy to answer your questions if I can. Don't take the word of a single member. Try to contact a few.

There are also those that will "give you a source". Well guess what, a lot of times they are the scammers but by the time you put it all together, it's to late and you didn't even know you were dealing with that member and not a legit source.

These guys are smart, they've been around, they know what to say and they know what to do to get your cash.

I know it's hard trying to find a legit source especially when you are new but you have got to be smart about this. Do a little homework before you lose any cash and remember, never send more than you can afford to lose.

I've never been scammed with steroids but have been ripped off twice lately by two supposedly reputable research supply labs while trying to purchase BB and filters.
So I've got lots of powder but no trust worthy BB and filter suppler.

I got scammed by prodigy. I started posting and asking some questions. He sent me some pms answering my questions. He really seemed like he wanted to help me out. Prodigy has been on these boards for a long time and is pretty active. It makes him a pretty easy guy to trust. He took me for over $300. Two weeks after I sent money are started to think I'd been scammed. I started questioning a few other members that were making similar posts to mine and found out that prodigy had ripped one of them off and almost got the other. It's shitty that he has no problems going from board to board ripping people off. Someday karma intervene I'm sure.

I "Think" he tried to Scam me too, he gave me a couple of "Reliable sources" which turned out to both be Fakes, i can list these sources or PM them to somone if need be.

Basically he was posing as a very repected Legitimate source, and i almost fell for it. he used a cover story of his website being down and said that he was still taking email orders, so we exchanged emails. And i placed an order, then he asked me to send him funds to a US WU Account (even though selling from the US is very Illegal) and asked me to waive transaction ID when sending Funds and to use a secret answer, this Rang warning bells straight away so i severed communications with him and luckily didn't send any Funds.

After this i did some Googling for the email he gave me and it returned a ton of results from people in a similar situation that had been scammed on other Forums, clearly this isn't limited to MESO-Rx.

this should be a sticky me thinks yes people are hard to trust and there sems to be more scammers out there than legit suppliers the way things are going now.

the sites are easy to spot, ive only ever ordered off one site and i knew it was legit, the site was plain and basic, not a lot of work was put into it to try and increase sales and it wasnt very professional looking either, just a plain get to the point looking site, the guy always responded to my emails and was always just straight to the point head on, either order or dont kind of approach. Now i just goto the local big bastards at the gym if i need a quick product, ive found the gym is the safest method imo.

Andy is absolutely right, if you've got a supplier at your gym with legit products and reasonable prices, best to stick with him. With so many of these online suppliers it's hard to tell what's what and who's who. Everyday a new one with the same old generic looking template to their website, clones if you will. Granted there are a few legit one's though.

I got scammed by ana1(Derrick Christopher in Cordova,TN) a couple/few years ago. Pissed me off, but it was a dumb move on my part not his. He was a scumbag looking to rip bros off and I was more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (aka:bend over for what was coming). Thats a mistake I only made once.

I got scammed once. It was back before I knew anything about anything. I hadn't even started coming to the meso board or any of the boards. Somehow, I came up on this European site that was a complete scam. Sent off about 500 or so for a cycle, and never heard from the guy again. I believe the my contact was rasmusen07 at yahoo.com. That was almost 10 years ago.

Not long after that, I started doing better research. I found meso, the gade, and the ug. I have been very fortunate since then. I'll probably get scammed again someday, but so far so good.

2 questions for HDH:

1. If you did ban prodigy, does that do any good? Can't he just start back up with a different screenname?

2. Why not just have the new guys pm their passwords to you and you can read the emails that were ALLEGEDLY exchanged and go from there. Further, if anyone else wants to make the same claims this is a good chance for them to speak up.

Lastly, if you're gonna claim that you were scammed, you should at the very least have some emails or pm's to corroborate those claims.

Yet to be scammed but any source can decide to turn sour at any time and decide to turn scammer and keep accepting money, just something to keep in everyone's mind.

I'd like to see some of these proclaimed exchanged emails,if we have scammer/s here they should be banned immediately.

Scammer stories. Don't want to talk about it. Had to get the experience of scammers to find some reliable sources. Strangely, I ignored advice & responded cautiously to a guy from Bosnia of all places who contacted me years ago by PM. He's been loyal & dependable all these years, even replacing what got grabbed by customs. Websites, people say don't, but I've been lucky. Those eastern European websites pretty well proved themselves, though they're often damned inefficient, so you have to keep after them. It's the American fly-by-nights I wouldn't trust. Now it seems all these unnamed sources are being extra cautious, like they're being watched or something. Crazy idea, eh?

My biggest losses – and I'm talking thousands & thousands of dollars – have been in trying to import Human Growth Hormone (from that very populous nation to the east). Canada customs likely got most the product, but there was this guy on another board from the U.S. who had been there years and swore to send me primo Jintropin if I WU'd the cash "right away". Bye-bye cash. Suddenly no more responses & he's gone from the board. Turns out I wasn't alone. All that fishing is over now, thank the gods of good fortune.

Ah well, live & learn. Money comes and money goes, but better living through chemistry is a life-long pursuit.

He could come back under another screen name I can ban his user name but his IP addy shows a few hundred.

I can tell you this, I banned him at BBC for the same thing. Only he wasn't giving out fake e-mails, he just took money and didn't send product. The guy is a member here but doesn't log on much anymore.

Prodigy was using the name TJ at BBC.
