so apparently im one of the ones who gets severe joint pain with anastrozole. my dr recommended 1 mg every other day to keep aromatization in check. but at this dose my elbows and knees become unbearably painful. while i will be talking to him about alternatives, can anyone who has had this happen tell me what they did to resolve it? did you try exemestane or tamoxifen? or did you work on managing the symptoms and continue to use anastrozole?

You're getting sore joints most likely because your estrogen is crashed, not necessarily from the anastrozole, duh, your dr is a dumb ass prescrbing that much ,

As others have mentioned, that's an insanely high dose. I assume you're on a TRT dose of 200 or below, so you honestly probably don't really need an AI. Not only is crushing E2 harmful, there is evidence that AIs are toxic in other ways as well.

However, if you are aromatizing a great deal, .25mg anastrozole once or twice a week should be sufficient to control E2 for any dosage <200mg, to be confirmed via blood testing.

yeah. not the first time its happened. the first time it happened was over a year ago. thought i had damaged my tendon, the dr gave me a cortisone shot. made the pain go away but seems like its unnecessary
Yeah I think most are reporting extremely low E2, when it's actually crashed and not just in labs but at the tissue level, it's all out warfare. Once someone truly crashes, they'll never do it again. Like touching the stove as a kid.

well as ive been educated, the dose im on is not considered TRT, but my dr did RX 400 mg TC every 5 days.

Ok, so 560/week. Yeah, that's nowhere near a TRT dose. Gyno seems like a possibility at that dose and with E2 at 130. I should think that .25 twice a week would still serve to at least keep your E2 low enough to prevent gyno, but I do not have personal experience with such dosages, so I'll defer to other more experienced members.

yeah we started the AI after i reported a bit of itchiness in the nipples. but i am due to follow up in march.

since i know my dosage from the dr is hard for some to believe i wanted to share the proof to get past the part where people say I'm full of shit

As others have said, that’s almost certainly too much anastrozole and you should be getting bloodwork to confirm your E2.

You might also consider changing your frequency from every 5 days to every 3.5 days or less, as that will reduce your peaks and likely require a lower AI dose.

I believe you. There's doctors out there like that, although I don't know why they would risk their licenses. Very tough to argue that 560/wk is a replacement dose.

What are you looking to do here? Are you looking to juice out and get swole? Or are you looking to do true TRT or maybe a little TRT+? I personally feel pretty good on 100mgs with the occasional micro-blast of up to about 250 total AAS load. Because one way that you can lower your E2 is simply lowering the dose, and that's probably healthiest. AIs are pretty harsh drugs.

But it depends on what your goals are.

Oh, and I also agree that upping your administration frequency will help to mitigate aromatization somewhat.

The Dr did say i could adjust the frequency of injections as long as i met the dosage he recommended. he said he was targetting 2000 ng/dl as my constant test level.

Honestly i got into the testosterone scene because at 42 years old, i was hitting the gym for jiu jitsu 5 days a week, i managed to lose about 100 lbs from being morbidly obese, this is all without any drugs or medical interference, but i was hitting a wall and noticed no matter how much i trained or rested or adjusted my diet, my energy levels were totally shit. my PCP tested my testosterone and found i was at 248 ng/dl, and prescribed me something like 80mg a week. that got me up to 257 ng/dl, but didnt really give me much difference in feeling. He was using a reference range of 300-700 ng/dl. he refused to increase the dosage any further stating that any improvement was better than none. so i found a dr at a clinic who happened to specialize in this stuff and has helped some of my training partners and he explained his theory that over time men's testosterone levels have declined due to the crap we eat breathe etc. he said he believes men were intended to be above 2000ng/dl as a standard by nature but the way the medical community operates, rather than addressing the problem, they just adjust the reference range to the average levels of current patients. being not a Dr, i went along with what he said as it made sense to me. and on his dosage ive felt better than i ever have in my whole life. i believe once i get the e2 in check and my dosage balanced, i can still do great things before old age kick in
