Is it possible your body metabolizes Reta quicker at some phases?

Recently, the last 3 doses of Reta I took (1.5mg, 2mg and 2mg) have felt almost like nothing. Usually my appetite has been sufficiently suppressed and I didn’t have many cravings. However recently? Especially days 5 and 6 (post prev dosage) it’s like normal. Has this happened to anyone? My gut says to stick it out at 2mg for the next two weeks then decide how to progress, but I would be lying if I said this isn’t a touch confusing. Maybe I’m just not eating the right foods. Any ideas or insights?

What are you eating?

I’ll take today for example cause it’s pretty emblematic of my week so far. I had one blood orange, half a Japanese sweet potato, mini chicken sausages (3) and 2 boiled eggs for breakfast (this was ~6am). Lunch around noon, I had a bowl of chili and a small cube of cornbread. Here’s where things go down, I had 2 muffins, they weren’t big but idk why I even wanted them considering I haven’t had a strong sweet tooth in the past couple months. And I had some chicken and scallion rice for dinner. So a big eating day but give or take a little less this is what my week has looked like. I suspect it’s possibly due to the increased activity levels or possibly due to being in the throws of my luteal phase but that doesn't explain the previous week. Maybe I just fair better on a lower dosage? Idk

If you have lost weight, your body will adjust its other hunger hormones to try to get you to eat more. When you drop weight on a GLP1, you will eventually reach some kind of equilibrium if you don’t change the dose. If that happens, then you’d need more of the GLP1 drug to push against your hunger hormones to get the same kind of effect you were getting before.

So this is purely anecdotal, but you are describing the symptoms I personally use as a sign it's time to increase the dosage.

Assuming you know your vial of Reta is good and that the fill is correct, and you aren't experiencing any negative sides, I vote for an increase in dosage. Not by much, maybe even a split dosage where you pin an additional 1mg at the half way point between your regular schedule, and then bump it to a full 3mg next.

Having read a bunch of testimonials, people seem to respond in a wide variety of ways - some get excellent results microdosing, some need 4 or even 5mg to even feel any different from baseline.

I have lost weight but not significant enough to warrant such a reaction per se. Also if I’m being honest I don’t particularly feel hungry in the traditional sense (stomach hurts until you eat). But that sensation of fullness comes much later than it did previously. Thank you anyways, I’ll take this information, track and figure out where to go from here :)

okay, idk why I’m nervous about upping it just yet, I think maybe because I’ve been upping it every 4weeks (for the most part) but I think that’s the best game plan here. I’ll give it a shot!

This is exactly why there is a titration schedule in the trials and pharma dosing instructions. Your body adapts and can then tolerate more. There should be nothing surprising or confusing about this.

If you don't want to increase dose you could also change your dose schedule to every 5 days (although that is, in effect, increasing the dose).
