Retatrutide Fat Loss Progress Log

I just wanted to share my review and experience with Retatrutide.
I started my first injection 4 weeks ago (Initial Thread) and wanted to document my journey, both for myself and to help others who are researching.

My main goal is to reverse my fatty liver and lower body fat percentage. I don’t care too much about scale weight — my focus is losing fat, not muscle, and regaining health. I’ve been “skinny fat” my whole life and never truly lean (<25% BF).

Last year, I dieted for 6 months and lost ~8 kg. Even at 30k steps/day average with a huge calorie deficit, progress was slower than expected. That’s why I decided to try this research peptide — to see whether it was me or my body’s biology holding me back.

Ultimately, my dream is simple:
see a six-pack for the first time in my life, while keeping my muscle.

Starting Stats (Aug 6)

  • Age: 27, male
  • Weight: 68 kg (150 lbs)
  • Height: 172 cm (5′8″)
  • Body Fat: 24% (mostly visceral)
  • Waist: 85 cm (33.5″)
  • Insulin resistance: mild
  • Fatty liver (NAFLD)
  • Bloodwork:
    • AST (GOT): 48 U/L
    • ALT (GPT): 55 U/L
    • γ-GT: 45 U/L
    • HbA1c: 6.0% → might be prediabetic

Titration Protocol

  • Week 1–3: 0.5 mg Retatrutide weekly
  • Week 4: 1.0 mg Retatrutide weekly
  • Ongoing: 2 IU HGH daily

Training & Activity

  • 12k steps/day
  • 4× resistance training/week (Upper/Lower split)
  • 2–3× tennis/week
  • Post-meal prandial walks after every meal

Diet & Supplementation

  • Calories: ~1,800 kcal/day
  • Protein: ~140 g/day
  • Supplements:
    • Potassium citrate
    • Magnesium bisglycinate
    • Omega-3
    • Vitamin D3 + K2
    • Berberine before every meal
    • Creatine monohydrate 5 g/day
  • Hydration: 2.5–3 L water daily
  • Food: mostly whole foods, all meals weighed & tracked

1-Month Results (Sep 3)

  • Age: 27, male
  • Weight: 66 kg (145 lbs) → −2 kg (−4.4 lbs)
  • Height: 172 cm (5′8″)
  • Body Fat: 21.6% (mostly visceral) → -2.4%
  • Waist: 79.5 cm (31.3″) → −5.5 cm (−2.2″)
  • Bloodwork:
    • AST (GOT): 38 U/L
    • ALT (GPT): 32 U/L
    • γ-GT: 29 U/L
    • HbA1c: 5.6% → -0.4%

Reflections After 1 Month

  • Waist reduction is dramatic (−5.5 cm / −2.2″) despite only small scale weight loss. Clear sign of fat loss and likely some recomposition.
  • Liver markers improved significantly within 1 month — AST, ALT, γ-GT, and HbA1c all moved toward normal ranges.
  • First 3 weeks @ 0.5 mg: very little appetite suppression, weight/waist stalled.
  • After increase to 1.0 mg (week 4): appetite dropped hard, nausea kicked in, and food intake became challenging. Even got sick for a few days — but it confirmed the peptide was active.
  • Overall: I feel healthier and more refreshed, whether placebo or not. The bloodwork plus waist measurements prove it’s working.I don't think its just retatrutide that is doing all the work but it makes the diet adherence so much easier and supports it in a healthy way I think. I am also very glad I didn't jumpstart it at 2mg per week or something or got too impatient as the 1mg is really enough for me.

Next Steps

  • Continue at 1 mg weekly, monitor tolerance.
  • Maintain activity and diet structure.
  • Weekly weight/waist tracking, bi-monthly bloodwork
  • Long-term goal: 12% body fat, visible abs, and normalized metabolic health.

Also shoutout to @Ghoul for answering most of my newbie questions in my initial thread!

Im trying to post monthly on this thread and answer all questions!

Awesome, looking forward to some sick results! Great start, keep the momentum.
Don't forget to take weekly progress pics, even just for yourself if not comfortable sharing here. It's helped me stay encouraged when I don't see much movement on scale. I've got a similar goal(see the 6pack) but the loose skin is pissing me off, lol.
LFG

Quite the detail. I like it.

Reta has amazing results in bodyfat and liverfat specially at 4mg week, up to 8mg week.

The lipids and insulin sensitivity benefit have very diminishing returns in upping the dose.

Great progress so far, of all i loved to see you a1c drop, it was looking bad.

So are you saying there’s no reason to go above 8 mgs a week? I disagree but would like to hear why you’re saying this …. Just based off trials and studies or have you went that high ?

I think it’s the same with every drug, the more you take the more effects and side effects you may see. I’m just hesitant to believe that people see so many positive things from dosages of half or 1mg per week when starting dose on trials is 2mg. It’s like saying I need 140mg for trt but I feel great and I get all the benefits from 70mg per week lol. Or 1IU HGH.. at 1mg I didn’t noticed anything. It worked at 4mg and it worked better at 6mg for me, but that’s when I got some GI issues and reduced the dose.

You can see the trajectory of 8mg plateaus and 12mg is continuing downwards. The difference will be more pronounced beyond 48 weeks.
Possible, but that would mean that you can do only 8mg for at least a year, than consider upping the dose from there if you still need more fat loss.

Here is the other image that didnt go, related to the other metrics of the study

Keep in mind these are composite results of a large group of people. Like semaglutide and tirzapatide, response will vary significantly from person to person and it's entirely possible a given individual will need the larger dose to achieve what someone else gets on a lower dose.

I 100% agree with this

Just from my personal experience at one week 1mg. The appetite supression was so strong I could only eat one 500-700 kcal meal a day so I had to tone it down immediately. Too scared of muscle loss cause I could not hit my protein goal for 3-4 days

just because big pharma tested Reta at xyz mg per week as a starting point, doesn't mean zyx mg wouldn't offer benefits, i think it would be a marketing strategy to push for higher mg starting points set by big pharma just from a monetary standpoint, why would they admit a smaller dose would be effective when they can say that xyz mg starting points is the standard? Theres more and more people doing less than the "suggested" starting dose with actual numbers supporting the lower doses they are doing? idk, if i can get some benefits at less than 2.5 mg per week , then ?

This part, same thing with me,30k steps per day with bodyweight of 130 kg and i was not losing much. Now with 10 mg reta per week i hit 93 kg without any issues.Good luck and keep us posted.
