Hair Loss

Newbie here finasteride 1mg , msm , Knox gelatin tsb been working good. Hair line stopped hair getting thick. Joints feel good too

What a godsend of a thread. Been having hair anxiety doing another cycle.

Do any of you gents use topical minox with longer hair? I apply it as a foam and try to tilt my head back so the liquid runs down my scalp instead of getting worked into my hair. Any tips?

I only have short hair, about 2 inches long
I bought liquid minoxidil with a dropper so it goes on the scalp not the hair without having the hassle of parting my hair in each spot. The foam was a real hassle
I then immediately use a silicone scalp massager to rub it into the scalp for better absorption. I only rub for 10 seconds on each spot so it's not too much hassle

Good looks, thanks. It feels like the foam is marketed for already bald men, not for men preserving hair. Going to try to liquefy the foam and use a dropper, and find another supply.

Long time user of .5 dutasteride and 5mg of oral minoxidil once I saw thinning. Thicker hair and I’ve maintained what I have, which is a lot.

Also, August and September, you will see more shedding. It’s normal.

Oral minox is so much more effective, effortless, and dirt cheap.

How real and serious are the cardio risks of it? That's my only concern really
I have blood pressure on the lower side of things and I'm running 10mg cialis daily, 5mg of oral minoxidil AND applying topical minoxidil twice daily and my blood pressure has not changed.

I believe in a clinical setting, the doses of oral minoxidil for treating high blood pressure are something like 40mg a day, so 5mg for hair loss prevention is absolutely nothing.

Im only n of 1 but I've felt no adverse effects of adding 5mg minoxidil to my stack.

How long have you been doing that, do you take fin or dut either oral or topical and what have been the results on your hair? Cheers bro

You'll die for sure.

(in 45 years no one has ever died from a 2.5 or 5mg dose of oral Minoxidil. The normal blood pressure dose is 40-50mg. In the extremely rare cases of serious side effects, typically in people with serious heart or kidney disease, they reverse after stopping)

I started 0.5mg dutasteride and 5mg oral minoxidil middle of July this year so it's too early to tell.

Dutasteride and oral minox is the most potent, proven hair loss prevention and regrowth stack there is. All else is minor compared to the cumulative impact of those 2 over time. Continued improvements have been seen out as far as 5 years before plateau with that combo.

Most people are impatient, so they jump from one trendy thing to the next, rather than letting these basic compounds do their work. Whatever hair can be preserved or recovered will be by using these for several years.

I’m looking at coming off fin for the foreseeable future (been on 1mg nightly for about 6months) and switching to topical minox/ru/fin. So that I can run NPP/Deca on my next cycle.

What’s the time frame for coming off/starting the cycle? Any info is appreciated. Thanks MESO

I started minox and dust earlier this year. I really don't see a difference on my head. Pretty sure I waited too late. My hair everywhere else though seems to be growing longer, thicker. Knuckles, arms, ears, nose lol.

No it has no impact on hormones whatsoever. It's a BP med, a vasodilator, opening up microscopic blood vessels feeding hair follicles.

Although according to the Reddit Post Finasteride Syndrome foil hat wearers minoxidil will give you permanent erectile dysfunction. Which makes sense, It helps hair grow, like finasteride does, so it must break your dick forever too.

I dont fully agree with @Ghoul . Minoxidil - Wikipedia

In vitro Minoxidil treatment resulted in a 0.22 fold change for 5α-R2 (p < 0.0001). This antiandrogenic effect of minoxidil, shown by significant downregulation of 5α-R2 gene expression in HaCaT cells, may be one of its mechanisms of action in alopecia. I'm pretty sure they're reffering to 5AR isoenzyme-2 . I wouldn't think this affinity is as strong as Dutasteride but it's what stopped me from taking it. I'm a bit over 40 and wont sacrifice any EQuality . I have about 80% of my hair left so fortunate as to not have to chose my hair over erection quality, libido etc...

Read the study that's based on. In a petri dish. by pouring minoxidil directly on cells, 5-AR 2 gene expression was reduced.

In the real word, corroborated by a mountain of peer reviewed data involving tens of thousands of subjects:

ZERO reduction in testosterone levels.
ZERO reduction in DHT levels.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but this kind of baseless nonsense is how social contagion proliferates, causing needless suffering in men using a non-hormone impacting compound who'll end up with psychogenic erectile dysfunction after hearing this type of stuff.

The only anti-androgenic impact of minoxidil is a psychogenic one, spread by the PfS cult looking to expand the franchise of demonized drugs to anything related to hair preservation.

@Ghoul I expected this.

I posted the quickest access to vertify 5AR expression But I will site more resources in the near future, which show in vivo results. I have a good friend who is a dermatologist and has worked extensively on hair cloning. He has been one of the top hair transplant surgeons and I will be more than happy to display the study numbers and results. He and his team took part in one of the largest finasteride for hair loss cohorts back in 1996.

Also this : Minoxidil possesses α2-adrenergic receptor agonist activity, which stimulates the peripheral sympathetic nervous system. You want relaxation of the SNS for blood to fill into the corpora bodies and engorge in to a full erection. a2 agonists like clonodine are used for priapism and a2 antogonism like yohimbine can help with erections and is the major mechanism of priapism with the medication Trazodone.

I will not debate this issue further as I have a fairly busy life, BUT will submit the results asap.

Good day Gentlemen
