Oxandrolone lowered total testosterone 36% while on TRT?

I got an unexpected total testosterone blood test result while on 6 weeks of oxandrolone at 25mg/day. My TRT is 140mg/week.

Free Test	26	25

SHBG	28	11

Both the TRT and oxandrolone are pharma prescribed by a doctor. I don't think oxandrolone is supposed to drop total test when on TRT so what could cause the big drop?

Looks like it dropped his total test while his free test remained unaffected. Interesting to note his shbg dropped more than 50% as well which should have increased his free test levels.

Yep. Because the total test dropped so much my free didn't go up despite the SHBG.

what ester are you running and when were your next injection after this test. also you still produce some endognous testosterone while on trt and anavar could have taken some of it but not to this extent

+ if you do something like test e with a half life of 3.5 days on injection day your levels will go 1200 next 3.5 days forward > 600 halfed. so that could also explain it.

i dont have full context so i cant answer. but try to test right after injection next time and see if its good

What does the body do with the extra FT if TT is down, and FT stays the same, but endogenous T source (TRT dosage) remains constant? I'm assuming the TRT is cleaved from the ester into free T. The body excretes it? Essentially wondering why wouldn't free T go up if SHBG is lowered and endogenous T remains the same.

Imagine experiment where SHBG magically drops in half or just drops over the course of some time period (oxandrolone for example).

All other constraints above stay in place. Let's just make it as simple as possible by assuming TRT (aka free Test) is being introduced...

Do oral AAS such as Anavar affect the equilibrium constant or only the levels of SHBG? For example, does Anavar change the equilibrium such that you can have higher Free T as a % of TT? Or does it only lower SHBG levels but the Free T as a % of TT remains the same?

1. Oxandrolone drops SHBG.

2. Lower SHBG ----> Lower TT

3. FT stays the same (same Test dosage on TRT)

4. Equilibrium constant unchanged

5. Lower TT / same FT ----> % FT = FT/TT goes up

Hence, oxandrolone increases percentage FT not FT itself...
