There are studies that indicate that while the changes are subtle and slow, “people become more extraverted, emotionally stable, agreeable and conscientious as they grow older. Over the long haul, these changes are often pronounced.”
I do find this to be true in my life except being more agreeable. More extroverted because I’ve become more comfortable in my own skin and don’t care what others think of me. More emotionally stable because I’ve learned to be more emotionally intelligent and understand myself better. More conscientious because things like paying bills late, missing deadlines, not preparing for emergencies, getting to work late, and not presenting a professional appearance does not lead to success in life and are behaviors of immaturity.
But I’m not more agreeable. In fact I find I’ve become less agreeable and I love that about myself. I appreciate and encourage speaking out, speaking up, and disagreeing, in business and in life.
If you think AAS has made you a more aggressive asshole, it might just be you and not the roids. Don’t confuse aggressive with assertive. Assertiveness is to be confident but respectful. Aggressiveness is to be domineering, dominating, interrupting and emotionally insecure.
