Multidose Vial Adapter

Vial spike brand and model:

BB I am using:

Brand new, fresh spike:
1752437107281.webp

Brand new, no damage:
1752437122022.webp

I sucked up some BB into the spike and sumberged it into the BB:

I'll report back after a week or so unless someone wants earlier updates. I'll let this soak for a while and see how it looks.

EDIT: Looks like the top end floats whether there is BB inside or not. I could put something on it to push it down and submerge but I don't want to introduce anything else other variables:

Looking forward to the results lol
I hate to admit but ive had my fair share of random things melting and leeching too

If only these companies made it easier to find the materials used for medical grade equipment.

Materials of construction...

Polycarbonate and acrylic both problematic with stress cracking with the wrong chemical environment. These spikes weren't intended for oil based gear.
That is a massive bummer. I was so looking forward to no floaters from my ED prop. I thought I was done with that.

off to the next thing I guess.

We got some action already. It looks like the satilite dish part is starting to laminate off with these strings. I know it is not a part of the internals or what actually touches the oil but worth noting. A few fell right off after I agetated it this morning:

Now, you can see here, that type of plastic is starting to "corrode" (cloudy parts) or break down. It looks like sun damage on an old vehicle when it sits in the sun for too long:

You can see the whole inside of the spike up into the housing looks degraded:

Big difference from yesterday when it was completely clear. Now, you could argue that no one is going to use 100% BB but I would argue that anyone who says it 100% not corrosive, evidence would conclude, less than 24 hours later, its showing signs of degredation.

You had these on a few oils right?
Are you still planning to use those oils?

I'm sure the dissolving/melting/leeching or whatever you call it will be accelerated when heat is applied.

Not completely related but i used to filter oils heated, was alot quicker..then i ended up melting some syringe plungers, ended up throwing away a whole bunch of oils...and now i filter at either room temperature or cold..

I threw the last one out that had the cracked housing. I wanted to believe it was the heat. So for the last few days, I have been using no heat which I NEVER thought was possible. Out of that, I realized that I can use my prop with no heat and get no pip.

As for now, I threw another one on another 20ml vial before my "experiment" (dumb I know) and I'll probably toss that one too. Not a fan of wasting that sweet clear nectar of the Gods but I try to stay away from drinking water from plastic bottles. It would be dumb of me to pin proven leeched plastics into my body.

Long rant to say no. I am tossing it even tho it hurts me more than the pip from prop just in a different way.

Potential follow up experiment. I offer to pitch in to recoup your costs.

I use these syringes with no rubber plunger or silicone oil: B. brown injekt® luer solo one-injection with luer approach, eccentric

I agree with the guy who is protesting. I mentioned that in post that is not normal circumstances.

I, for sure, will try it. I have about 30ml of prop brewed in MCT w/ 20% BB that I was planning on throwing away. I will dump that in a beaker with a new spike and we can watch.

I appreciate the offer to compensate. No need.

If anyone is curious, I have Miglyol 840 too. I know that has solvent properties as well based on information I have gathered on this forum. I can throw one in there and see if that causes issues.

I don't know if it really matters as a lot of people don't use it for its inflammatory response in a lot much less use with a vial spike.

Is this for EU?

I've switched to these.
All plastic, no silicone oil or rubber.
Luer slip tho, can't seem to find luer lock that's reasonably priced.

Yes, German site but they ship to UK.

I use those 1mL you linked for my shots, and the 20ml version for filtering.

Seems to work fine with luer slip if careful.

They do sell a lock version for 2ml and 5ml at the website I linked, not sure if they ship to the US.
