I just started using normal vial spikes and I want to cap the end and not leave it exposed to air. Anyone have a good source for a cap I can put on the end?

Wow. Good call on Ebay. I bought before you responded. I bought them from Primus Medical for 70$ when they are on ebay for 20$. Crazy.Just make sure to pick the right one for whatever vial adapter you use.
These are pretty cheap on ebay.
I use the green ones.

I just started using these and i use it daily. After a week or so, there is a crack in the housing and today I found a chunk of plastic on the plunger at the top. I don't think it is going to last the whole 20ml vial.
Does anyone have issues with the spike filter being degraded by BB?

Mine have a filter? I didn't know that.Your spikes are melting..don't use those spikes anymore. You'll end up injecting melted plastic. You should avoid spikes with oil filters unless you brew and/or are positive there's minimal solvents in them. E.g Test D and EQ can be easily brewed with 0% BB.
Look for spikes without filters. The BD Q-Style ones are pretty popular here. Med Lab Supply has them for like $5.99 each.
Also, when you say "minimal solvants", what do you mean? I brew my own prop and I use 20%bb. No EO or Guicol. Is that "minimal"?Your spikes are melting..don't use those spikes anymore. I have 3 on different vials and the only one that broke is the one on my prop. I heat it up pretty good. So that totally could be the issue. That should be fine.
I was thinking more of Chinese oils where they throw in alot of solvents together with EO
Looks like those spikes you had were pretty bad i guess..
Yeah, I posted it elsewhere.I just started using these and i use it daily. After a week or so, there is a crack in the housing and today I found a chunk of plastic on the plunger at the top. I don't think it is going to last the whole 20ml vial.

is that because of solvants or heat do you think?Yeah, I posted it elsewhere.
The B Braun mini-spike is also susceptible to this.
I was filtering warm oil through the spike. It was clearly the solvents/oil dissolving it, the way it crumbled. This implies previously when using the spike, although it wasn’t enough to break it, it surely was dissolving small amounts of plastic into the oil.is that because of solvants or heat do you think?
what solvents were you using with that spike?I was filtering warm oil through the spike. It was clearly the solvents/oil dissolving it, the way it crumbled. It was chinese oil. Benzyl benzoate and ethyl oleate. More aggressive than oils with a lower solvent percentage but that doesn’t mean oils that don’t break it don’t cause leaching.what solvents were you using with that spike?
yeah that's fair. probably not a good idea to use it. might soak one in BB and see if it looks different after a week and on. Little science experiment. It was chinese oil.
