Reta Advice

I injected 2mg reta last week on friday and i've been feeling terrible since, monday night and tuesday night at 2 am exactly I've suddenly started waking up from my sleep uncontrollably vomiting everywhere. Of course aside from that having many other sides such as sulfur burps, regular nausea, diarrhea, absolutely zero appetite (getting 1000 calories or less daily), no energy, etc.

At this point i've already decided that I won't be injecting again this coming friday to let my stomach rest and recover, but could I get some advice on how to get back into it? I was thinking I'd wait a week until next friday and then inject 1mg.

Reta has been awful for me so far but based on how terrible these sides have been I can see its very potent I don't want to just stop it alltogether. Let me know what I should do to allow myself to recover and how to reintroduce it.

That is a pretty extreme reaction to 2mg. I’d give it a week or two to clear your system then start lower. 1mg to begin with. It builds in your system over the next 3-4 weeks so stick with that and monitor. If you are ok at 1mg bump it up by .5mg.

Who is your supplier ? Sounds like you got Sema and not Reta !!! I’m being dead serious.

I was thinking the same thing. Those sides are extreme for Reta. I don’t believe I’ve come across feedback where someone suffered this badly on a low dose of Reta.
I’m taking this exact same reta with my mom same dose and all and she's barely had any sides just started having nausea and diarrhea today if that changes anything

I misspoke earlier the reta has purple caps I messaged lobster and he said reta does have the purple caps. Is there a chance i just am really sensitive?

I don't know man, but that seems like a very extreme reaction. Even if it was sema, it would still be a strong reaction. Reta or tirz it would be almost unheard of. Could it have been something else? Food poisoning?

i doubt it, from the day of injection my appetite was entirely gone could barely get food down, felt nauseous and then since then it’s just progressed to the other sides stated

Tell us how you reconstituted, and how much you’re putting in syringe ?

Is it 10mg vials of Reta ?
yes 10mg vials of reta reconstituted with 0.5ml drawing syringe to 10. that should be the same as reconstituting with 1ml and drawing syringe to 20 for 2mg, i could try reconstituting a new vial maybe the higher concentration is causing issues for me?

I doubt it. The pharm form is always from 2.5 to 15 in the same .5ml so I doubt that would make a difference.

You know, we can speculate all day, I hate to say it, but the only way to know for sure is to go through with another inject.

yeah, i will be skipping this weeks injection to recover but my mom won't i can monitor her. but she also took that 2mg, if it was sema i assume she would also be having just as bad of a reaction

Explain this better …

In my opinion you should be mixing at least 2ml of Hospira bac water in that 10mg vial.

You would then draw to 40 units in a 1cc insulin syringe to get your 2mgs

Get more bac in there

Increase the volume. At worst it won't make a difference.. At best it'll significantly lower peak concentration in your blood and spread out absorption. Since sides typically correlate with drug peaks, it should help reduce them.

A rough simulation of the difference in absorption and peak level.

(ignore the numbers, they're arbitrary, the curve is what's typical)

While the max 12mg doses are also delivered in .5ml, that dose is slowly titrated up to over time. You have no tolerance to sides built up yet.

If you add 1.2ml the remaining 3 2mg doses will be .5ml each.

Assuming it's not Sema. But if it was 2.5mg of Sema, I think you'd both be in much worse shape than you are even now, and while it's not impossible, it's unlikely that kind of switch would happen with Lobster.

I've been using Lobster Reta (purple caps) for several months with no issues. It is possible that you've had an unusually bad reaction; I've had sulfur burps here and there on Reta and also a substantial increase in RHR (more than 10-15BPM) at 4mg, but nothing else really. I'm currently on 4mg/wk (divided into 3 shots).

My older sister has been through similar symptoms to yours on a starting dose of pharma Mounjaro.
