Ozempic makes you blind?

There are so many factors, the drug is still relatively new. Many people that use it aren't under the same supervision as when in trial, so we don't know what their lifestyle is.

If it was an issue if would've been detected earlier with something that serious, but that's assuming they didn't try and hide shit.

I'm pretty sure there's like 20+ years of research and trials on GLP meds by now. They're pretty safe. This article is probably bullshit. It mentions rapidly dropping blood glucose levels causing damage to the eye. Maybe don't eat sugar if you're a diabetic? That just means the drug works but it's not a bandaid for poor eating habits. If you're diabetic you should probably be eating keto to avoid blood sugar spikes

My mother takes Ozempic for her diabetes so seeing headlines like this makes me worried for her.. But it is strange that there aren't more reported cases

This is a non-issue, unless you're a diabetic, and even then it's extremely unlikely to happen.

When high blood glucose levels are brought down very rapidly in diabetics, by whatever means, it can damage nerves in the eye.

There are over 30 million GLP users, 7 patients were identified with this problem, all diabetics, none lost their vision.

It gets excessive, sensational coverage because negative news about GLPs is so unusual it gets views.

They should compare that figure to the diabetic retinopathy numbers from hyperglycemia; such a non-issue.

How about compare obesity and diabetic death/mortality rates to blindness from Semaglutide. These idiots have an agenda.

We also sensationalize the morons who scale GLPs dangerously with or without the idiocy of the front line medical community who doesn’t understand them.

Same thing with “Ozempic Body”. No… this is called never changing your eating habits, remaining flaccid by not exercising and then blaming the drug. It used to be known as “anorexic body”.

GLPs are a god send. People are the failure

Dailymail is a tabloid. If you read the research paper it states

'In this case series study, it was not possible to determine if there is a causal link between these drugs and the ophthalmic complications reported'
