The Firearm thread...questions, advice, range reports welcome

You guys make it really difficult to stay apolitical. Why does even a harmless thread like this have to start insulting people.

I don’t get it.
Because some idiot comes in who doesn’t know shit from Rice Krispies and assumes everyone talking about guns is some dumb redneck. When in reality he’s probably just jealous and pissed off that he lives in an area where guns are the Antichrist or he’s too broke to buy one, probably both!

Nutless, lonely idiots too shit at life to have something worth protecting and too soft to protect it should they ever get it.

Right. They see gun owners and ppl that conceal carry as scared cowards or stupid rednecks, when in reality someone prepared to protect their family and/or themselves to be around for their family is more of a man than some dickless libtard whose too stupid to realize shit can go bad real quick. Actually, the irony is that usually it’s the spineless fucks raised in non-traditional and non-conservative homes that walk into a grocery store and open fire because they’re mad at the world. And I’m ready and waiting to shoot them right in their fucking faces.

You wrote everything correctly and exactly. How many times have you seen people like this?

Fuck it, went out and finally grabbed one! It’s not a red rider BB gun but I’m hoping it’ll suffice for a Xmas gift for my 13 yr old son! I got the walnut punisher grips on the way, had to increase the badass factor!

Awesome!
Springfield Armory makes a rock solid 1911 platform. Is it .45 or 9mm? I like the Novak style low profile sights. I'm sure the trigger pull is crisp and light with almost no creep. I love 1911's.

Wow, this is a really cool gift. Looks damn cool.

Cool, you cant go wrong with .45. I carried a small Kimber cdp for awhile, pretty, yet finicky. Now it's a Glock 36 in .45.
230gr speer Gold dots are known for punching some serious holes in "targets"
Yea, from most reviews I’ve seen the 1911’s operate best with 230 grain ammunition, the lighter grains can cause the occasional feed problem

So there’s a high velocity .45 my buddy was telling me about that’s 75 grain and 1900 fps, he said it’s a devastating round. I asked him if it was too hot for a standard 1911 gun and he said it wasn’t. Pretty gnarly

Here I had a question. Will the barrel withstand such a load, apparently it will.

What it looks like with the new grips and gold plated grip screws. I was unsure abt the gold screws but it’s still subtle and gives it just a tad bit extra I think. Now I just have to wait till Xmas morning, finding an age appropriate gift for a 13 year old is tough, but thankfully I found one, hahahaha

+P load. No problem in 1911. $60 box of 20
Shallow penetration, big fragmented stretch cavity.

Absolutley. I can still remember after opening my presents , as a teen, finding a long box from Santa hidden behind the curtains. Imagine my surprise when I opened that box and found a Remington 870 wingmaster 12g. I still have both the gun, and the memories created since then.

I am sure that he will remember this festive day for the rest of his life and it will be especially dear and memorable.
That’s what it’s about man, yea we are fans of guns and all, but it’s more like something tangible that doesn’t get lost in the years.

You rightly noticed, we are fans of weapons, and this is a gift for life, he will grow up, years will pass, a family and children will appear, and he will tell his children about this day :)
