Anyone here have hip replacements?

How did you do?
53 y/o (bench only--since 39) intermediate+ level equipped lifter. Had right one done 2019, 1 week post op from left one presently. Done pretty good with them in general. Ortho surgeon is good and uses "anterior" approach. I follow their post op instructions ( P.T /exercises/med.) and transition into overload gradually. Overload strictly consists of sled dragging with very slow progression starting around 6 weeks post op. Just light ROM/leg extensions/standing leg curls... your "standard" P.T . at present. I wont squat or deadlift powerlifting style anymore and mostly just do GPP for lower extremities anyway. Just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this journey and have any suggestions in any areas of the recovery process? I think I have viewed most videos on you tube etc. from strongmen to curler (lol). Obviously, I seek knowledge mostly from a powerlifting perspective but all experiences/suggestions are appreciated

Didn't quite get your goals, are you recovering or do you want to get back into the competitive bench press?

No I am an active competitive bench presser.. Have no intention to competitively squat or deadlift again although maybe if everything goes well would like to squat and deadlift light someday. I am 2 weeks out from surgery at this time and just doing floor presses to try to maintain strength in the bench press until hip becomes flexible enough to get back on the bench. As above I have been through this with the left side about 3 years ago and just had the right one done. Just wanted to see if there is any tricks of the trade I am missing out on that previous washed up meatheads, P.T's,, or athletic trainers
might know that I dont.
Thanks for all the responses
Sorry I am not familiar with powerlifting competition. I thought your entire workout is doing benches only. :D
no problem brother

Now I understand, why do a bench press from the floor, if it is completely different. You can do the bench press when your feet are also on the bench. Or lengthen the bench and bench like Paralympic bench press guys.
