Wild Idea Buffalo. Once you started eating buffalo its hard to go back to beef.
I have tried myself and will say I can't stand it. Smells and taste a bit funky not just gamey but like musky. Maybe gotta be made just right but beef is far easier to tame strong flavors or bring out more

You gotta cook it low side of med rare or less and let it come to room temp before grilling it so you can cook it quick and hot. Its really no different then the way i grill any steak, its just less forgiving than beef because of the lack of fat and higher iron.

It smells like the animal in the wild to me. Living on a farm myself it's like lamb. The meat tends to taste the same if you licked the animal alive lol
To each thier own its prob like ppl who want beer to taste like bread water vs those who don't care if you like flavor drinks
I think buffalo to most is more a status statement than a practical meat for every day unless you hunt your own or raise your own. It's not a bad meat it is great but comparing its anabolic value to most other meats is silly

I dont know about that. Buffalo has more protein and less calories and fat per oz than beef. Its has higher in omega 3&6. Its high in b vitamins and other micronutrients. Its way better on your cholesterol. It all adds up to a better source of protein. I dont see how that is a status statement. Its a healthier option. If you cant afford it thats fine but dont try and say its the same as beef because its not. You can eat more buffalo which equals more protein than beef for less calories. A bison ribeye has 177 calories, 6 grams fat, and 30 grams protein compared to a beef ribeye, which contains 265 calories, 17 grams fat, and 27 grams protein.

I think how the animal is raised can change alot of those #s pretty easily. Grain fed vs grass fed for one plays a big part

Do you think that the type of feed greatly affects the amount of fat and protein in the end? Although I think so. The question is how does this affect the taste of meat. where is better and where is worse. Grass or feed

Grass fed has more omega. More vitamin b and d. Lower in cholesterol.
leaner and more healthy fats with the omegas. Grass fed is a richer beefier flavor more iron cuts look red unlike the mostly pink or almost white at the grocery store style grain fed.
Ours are pasture grazed grass fed

And thanks for that, I never thought about it. But it does sound cool. thank you very much
