For two weeks but it was light and then it disappeared. For a few days now I have been in severe pain day and night. How long have you had it? Had it been getting progressively worse? Was it an acute injury? (Did you hurt it during a workout).
In fact, the pain is in a strange areaHard to say. It's not so much in your joint, which is where the pain usually is.
The problem is time off. I can't stay away from the weights. And the problem is that I'm 42 too.It can be a few things. But rather than conjecture go get an MRI. Its the only way to know.
My shoulder pain years ago was a tear in my infraspinatus. Time off and a couple cortisone shots took care of it.
Recently I was diagnosed (after an MRI) with inflamed bicep tendon and shoulder joint degeneration. Again, time off and rehab exercises are speeding up the healing process.
Good luck man.
