I'm telling ya, that is the text book answer...but I can only give you what my personal experience is. I've tried every type of macronutrient changeup there is over the years, and my body just runs so much more efficiently on high fat/low carb.
At one point I was eating red meat, sardines, and whole egg...almost exclusively. I would mix up some green drinks and beet root powder in there...but that was it. It was the leanest I've ever been. I could barely pin subq because there was barely any subcutaneous fat to pin in to lol. I loved it. But yeah, workout intensity really suffered.
