How come it's always some asshole trying to bring a bodybuilder down or expose them when it comes to performance with functional strength, speed, etc etc?

It's 2 different worlds, not nearly the same at all. I would love to see more videos of some functional strength asshole stepping into the bodybuilder realm and seeing how he compares in weights lifted/performance. No, not a bar with 135 on it fuckface, comparable weights and reps in comparison to what Branch Warren gets!!!! Thats what I thought, now take your functional strength ass on home and STFU!!! My rant for the day

I wrote this post because I saw some video of Kai Greene in the streets of NY doing some crossfit video with some pencil neck fuck. And the nature of all of these videos is always the same thing; watch us expose this bodybuilder as not being THAT STRONG and not having THAT MUCH ENERGY. The ppl who make these videos are assholes. It's degrading for a guy with that kind of development to even partake in these videos, it's ppl who aren't even in the same universe trying to feel better abt themselves by saying, "See look, seeeeee...he isn't all that!! When in reality they could never be that big or look anything remotely close to the guys in their videos. It's fucking degrading, I'd be like "yea dude, keep it up with your WOD's and crossfit, I'm gonna go back and do my thing now, a thing you know NOTHING ABT!!
 
Crossfitters just had an ego complex. I will never let anything anybody says to me about my lifts or physique be "degrading" to me. They can suck my dick. This is my hobby, I do what I want. I can fucking hike 20 miles at 12,000 feet. Can they do that? Even if they can, does it fucking matter? I've done MMA, BJJ, and Martial/Counter Blade Concepts since I was like 12. Do they want to see who is more proficient in a knife fight? Fuck off lol

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Personally, I don't give a shit about crossfit. I love hiking, biking, and lifting. I have a ton of energy that I dedicate to keep in shape and getting shit done in life.

Honestly though I haven't seen any of these videos you are referring to. I don't waste my time watching youtube videos, particularly of dumb shit like retards trying to inflate their ego by inciting jealousy/anger in others. That is a waste of their time, a waste of my time, a waste of space on the internet. It's just a bunch of bullshit. Be above that shit and just don't partake. 98% of the shit on youtube is complete garbage anyway. I try to avoid youtube at all costs too because I really don't want to give fucking google any more money than they already make--I really wish people would just stop using their services entirely.

I am rambling. But in the end: focus on you. Don't let some stupid punk bitch get you riled up with something they say, especially online on a fucking dumb video or comment on the internet. That stuff is NOT worth focusing on, or even thinking about. Wouldn't it be great if those assholes posting those videos just got NO response? Like just fucking silence? To me that would be the ultimate gold. I want to see all the haters, all the shitty comments, all the dumb videos, just completely ignored and shunned. People would just stop making them then, because they want the views and the likes. Anyway. Good luck man, you focus on yourself and making YOURSELF better, not these other fucktards.

It's the same as some asshole trying to pick a fit with you in a restaurant or something cause you can properly fill out a shirt and his rent-a-girlfriend is getting wet just looking at you. Jealousy!


Coming from a powerlifting background to more power-building, it's no question which is more difficult. Bodybuilding is like powerlifting with dieting, and becoming proficient in many more exercises to balance all the muscle groups. I loved powerlifting, each block going up in lifts, barely caring about body weight as long as I didn't push myself into a higher weight class, easy "dieting", never working out arms, calves, or any other body part that did not contribute to a higher total in the 3 lifts, etc.

As I get older, the joints don't recover nearly as quickly as I need for heavy, low-rep work. Volume training kicked my ass until I got used to it, and it's just a change in attitude and looking to progress in reps, set, and weight rather than just the weight. Easier on the body for certain!
 
Anyone who thinks BB aren’t strong is living in a different era. Kai inclines 5 plates. Ronnie squatted 800 for reps. Valliere is casually DLing 700 for a set. We sure as shit can’t move well though. Most BB are ex-athletes though, and if you gave them 4-6 months to add endurance training for a specific goal they’d outperform the average Joe AND be fucking 100lbs of muscle heavier.

I think so long as the video is made in good fun and both parties understand what’s going on, they’re entertaining. Thinking some average joe xfit bro is superior to a pro BB because he’s better at what he specifically trains for is a moronic.

Functional strength = “I can’t put on enough muscle to bulk over 165, so I’m going to pretend that scrawny-man muscle ups are cool to massage my injured ego. Watch me flop around doing kipping pull-ups until I give myself a SLAP tear.”

Yeah! And 2 weeks ago I finally made the "200 club!", meaning I can bench 200 lbs for one rep!!!!! So psyched!!! :D

I kid, I kid. I just remembered this guy back in college who said he "made the 200 club" because he could bench 200 lbs. It was quite amusing then and even more amusing now. For the record this guy was NOT a body builder.
