Black Privilege

We have a black warehouse manager at work and I wanted his take on all this. I asked him if he ever feels discriminated against and without hesitation he told me no. He said that 30 years ago when he was in college he did experience discrimination. There is also another black man here that I spoke with. He was telling me about a time when he got pulled over "because he was black". Turns out that something is wrong with his transmission and when he drives down the road his reverse lights stay on. So he clearly got pulled over for a moving violation, something all of us would get pulled over for.

I've never had an issue with black people and I'll just as quickly start a conversation with a black man as with a white man. But it's hard not to get pissed off when race is used as an excuse not to get your reverse lights fixed or whatever responsibility you're neglecting. Especially when there are plenty of black men who live productively and without using racism as a crutch. I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but based on the conversations I've had, I think it's made out to be a bigger problem than it really is. The attitude in this country is a bigger problem than any other that we face. We're so hung up on picking a side and it's hard not to right now. The Democrat big government agenda is scary and they are using every immoral tool they have to divide us, and the sick part of it is that it's working. Democrat vs Republican has become, although not quite exclusively, black vs white. I'm afraid that the fundamental and systemic issues will fall to the wayside in lieu of political gain.

It's mind-boggling the extremes to which people will go to avoid acknowledging that police brutality and systemic racism against Black Americans in the criminal justice system is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

For example,

But but white lives matter too...

But but Black people are racist too...

But but Black people are blaming white people for everything...

But but Black people have many more advantages than White people (black privilege)...

But but white people are the biggest victims (of everything)...

But but Black on Black crime is a more serious problem...

But but absent Black fathers...

But but Black Americans have it much better that Blacks in other countries...

But but President Obama was Black...

Quite honestly, none of these assertions fundamentally changes the problem of police brutality. So if you're using any of these to discredit the movement for police reform, you are:

(a) okay with police brutality - white, black, it's all good to you, or...

(b) not okay with police brutality - but do not think it discriminates based on skin color, or...

(c) straight-up racist, or...

(d) being manipulated by racists and others seeking race/culture war; and those who want to discredit/resist police reform for whatever reason; and/or politicians/pundits and their respective agendas.

It's not so mind boggling when you look at it in the context of other trends. In particular "systemic racism against Black Americans in the criminal justice system" and elsewhere has been very deliberately blamed on "white people". It's strongly promoted in the media, in our educational institutions and by our elected officials.

Most white people know they are not the cause, and having been taught from childhood that racism is about the worst trait a human can have, they are extremely offended by those accusations. Combine that with a large and growing population that openly hates white people, and they will naturally look for other causes, even if those causes eventually lead to actual racism.

See...i can find 20 Black men including myself that have experienced racial discrimination...just because 2 black guys that you know don't feel that way( even though one admitted he actually was discriminated against) doesn't mean it doesn't exist, is going away, or that it's being used as a crutch...it's admitting that it's a reality that needs to be confronted and not pushed under the rug because some folks feel uncomfortable talking abut it, Black and White...... Politics plays a part in this also, we've had White Supremacists in the White House and in congress, and until we ALL make smarter choices about who our lawmakers are, and start looking past these blanket stereotypes like the OP...it won't end

I want nothing but the best for you, friend. I'm just saying that we ALL have to be accountable and avoid demonizing one another because that isn't gonna help any of us. There have definitely been crimes against humanity but the ones that have happened as of late were dealt with (officers fired/arrested) before the rioting began. I'm not sure what else could or should be done. If it's hard for police to stop a crime before it happens then how can the majority of non racist whites stop an act if racism before it happens? What specifically would you like to see change?

that Folks stop teaching their kids to hate other folks on the basis of skin color, and that goes for ALL ethnicities...it starts in the home, racism is generational...and when racism rears it's head it's confronted, not shushed away, that won't make it stop

Because if you notice, this thread wasn't started by a Black guy...the OP ( And the people who co signed ) got this racist mindset from somewhere

that first post was VERY racist , but you only have a comment about mine..... i see you

And yet you deflect again.
Either way, you resorted to a term to use against someone in a derogatory way.

Sorry, but you outed yourself as a RACIST.

You have played yourself as a victim in every post you have made.

I see you VERY well and more importantly, Booker T. Washington saw you more than 109 years ago

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs – partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

there it is.... that quote that some white folks like to pull out of their ass in a discussion on racism. no one is asking for sympathy, and i sure as hell aint doing this for money..... remember i didn't start this thread, but i sure wasn't gonna let it slide as truth....so this doesn't apply to me at all.... Damn right i said redneck racist...those are the kinds of people that make posts like these degrading black folks...what do you call them, " very fine people"? So, i do see you, every time there are derogatory comments about black folks, here you come galloping in, not to add insight or anything even remotely smart, but to co sign bullshit stereotypes...again, you said NOTHING about the OP...and boy does that say ALOT(about you)

I guess a quote from a black man isn't good enough for you UNLESS it fits your narrative.

Thanks for solidifying your racism by using a derogatory term not once but twice.

One can only imagine the racist dribble that spews from your mouth when behind closed doors with others.

Will you guys quit playing victim already. Enough is enough.
Another dumb ass comment....who's playing victim? who's saying " feel sorry for me because i'm black"? because i don't recall ANYONE typing that in this whole thread which, no BLACK PERSON ON THIS FORUM EVER STARTS.... it's funny, some racist make a bullshit post...i defend my ethnicty...and I'M the one being attacked...it's like we have some lo key stormfront members on here...acknowledgement of racism, and saying i can't function AT ALL in society because of RACISM, so woe is me... are 2 COMPLETELY different things...but you seem not to be able to distinguish that difference , so i won't dialog with you any further

NO, it doesn't apply to me so therefore it's meaningless in this context...it may make YOU feel better about yourself...but that doesn't make it true..which it isn't...Again...nothing about the RACIST OP....... just coming at me for defending my ethnicity....Typical of you

He cant.

It's the left leaning narrative.

Without being a victim there is no substance to life.

It's so bad, the left has to make shit up because there are no incidences of substance.

May I present to you recent events such as Jussie Smollett and Bubba Wallace.

Bubba is doubling down saying it was a noose when it was investigated by 15 FBI agents who concluded it was not a hate crime.

Also, recently a BLACK man who had hung ropes from a tree as part of a home work out because of gym closures is being investigated because everyone knows that ropes hanging from a tree can only mean one thing ... right?

Bubba didn't find the noose, a NASCAR employee did and reported it...that's common knowledge...well not for you, but it is....some folks are just mad because Bubba pushed to have the flag of treason removed

I don't know what Jussie was trying to pull but he got caught, and will have to answer for that... i found his story hard to believe when i first heard it

no one is making shit up...stop with the nonsense....be clear...ANYONE post some derogatory or degrading about black folks here and i see it...YOU ARE GETTING CHECKED, PERIOD.

You're Pathetic

Bubba didn't find the noose, a NASCAR employee did and reported it...that's common knowledge...well not for you,

I guess as usual you side stepped that he is doubling down still saying it's a noose even though according to you "he didn't see it" ... all this even AFTER 15 FBI agents investigated and said it's NOT a noose. Hell, what's next? I guess since his shoe laces have loops ..... noose found!

no one is making shit up...stop with the nonsense

I don't have time to research and pull them as I am at work right now. However, I will be back and link up all the fake racism shit just like Jussie and Bubba to prove you wrong yet AGAIN.

YOU ARE GETTING CHECKED, PERIOD.

Slow down tough guy. You're not checking anyone as since you have self established twice now that you are racist little man.

There’s a whole lot of lying bullshit on the left, and there’s a whole lot of coward bullshit on the right. Dresden is the one in this conversation that isn’t deferring to political tropes in lieu of taking people seriously. Since this is so common regardless of race, to have theories about “people” that displace your actual conscience, maybe racist is the wrong word. But if you’re just leaning on holographic MAGA incitement low IQ bullshit to circumvent your human duty to pay attention to the person talking to you, you’re just being a cowardly child.

I don’t like Bubba Wallace. It seems like he’s capitalizing on politics, and I’m suspicious of the whole story there. But right now, at this moment, you’re talking to a completely different black man in @Dresden who just personally witnessed some of you self righteously denigrate his race. If you can’t see that for what it is, and you want to mud sling and have a little race war and project on to him everything you see on Tucker, then you really just need to go back to kindergarten and relearn the basics of human decency.

See...i can find 20 Black men including myself that have experienced racial discrimination...
Damn, you can find 20 black men? Where are you? Prison? My suburb is all white. :D

Totally joking. Promise.

Sorry to hear what you've experienced. I do believe the future will be better as it takes a few generations to improve things. I know when I explain what's going on, my kids think how stupid it is that people don't like one another over skin color.

Black Lives Matters is just a scattered brained emotional outburst.

Instead of focusing on one thing and only one thing, they bring in all these other side issues that side track their movement.

Police brutality is real. These mother fuckers kill 1000 of our citizens every year. Mostly white people. Cops are taught to escalate, fear based trained.

I fully support defunding police because most of the arrests across the country are for drugs, only 5% of arrests are for violence. These fuckers go around hunting us like prey, they use us to boost performance reports, end of year raises, pension increases for retirement. This has nothing to do with law and order, this is just a business to bring in revenue.

Yes black people are targeted, of course they're targeted, their low hanging fruit, they can't defend themselves, they aren't connected to powerful people, they can't afford lawyers. Most will be charged and given outlandish sentences if they don't take a plea so very very few of them will ever have a constitutional day in court. They will be fucked in the ass and that is that. Prosecutors are given twice the budget of public defense. The game is rigged on the side of the state.

The bigger question isn't BLM, it's our thousands of laws and regulations that need to flushed down the toilet.

It's simple, keep your hands off me and my property. Don't need any more laws than that.

Other simple solution is to keep police at their stations until they are called for help just like fire and emt. Don't need cops out harassing the public patrolling to destroy lives and boost numbers.

This really isn't a black issue. If you're rich and black, you're gonna be just fine. If you're poor, not too bright then there's a good chance you're gonna screw up.

There's an easy way to avoid being arrested and that's to not be seen by the cops. You have to make yourself invisible.

Keep your car spotless, wear clean cloths, keep your hair trimmed neat, don't attract attention to yourself, don't look at the cops, just keep walking looking straight ahead. Too many kids aren't taught that cops know what they're looking for, they aren't taught that there's a idiot quotient that cops are always on the look out for. Doesn't matter if it's black, brown or white, if they're poor and dumb, cops will zero in like sharks smelling a pin drop of blood in the ocean a mile away.

Leftism has nothing to do with what's going on in this country.

We have a huge collection of dumbfuck babyboomers that believe the propaganda they have been spoonfed most of their lives.

They believe in Mom, Flag, Bible, Apple Pie, government, police, prison, sadism, King Trump.

Most of this tearing down statues and erasing history of this country is long overdue. It would be hypocritical to not tear down statues of men that owned hundreds and in some cases thousands of slaves. Doesn't matter what era you were born in, slave owning was seen as evil hundreds of years ago by more enlightened people and even though those protesters voices were drowned out or in some cases snuffed out, they were still around to call bullshit when they saw it.

So sure, tear down the statues, destroy the monuments, fuck it. This country is a giant police state, millions in prison, millions stuck on the digital plantation. There's nothing free about this country as it is right now.

The blacks are hypersensitive to these statues and for good reason, many of them were built and put in place during jim crow to enforce white supremacy, lets make no bones about it, the early 1900's saw shitloads of these racist statues being erected because white people wanted to make damn sure the coloreds knew who was in charge.

No different then erecting a giant statue of Hitler in the middle of Israel, it wouldn't fly and the holocaust was absolutely nothing compared to the blood curdling savage brutality of the North American Slave Trade.

So even though I'm not gonna champion the cause of black people, I will gladly cheer on the destruction of our monuments that built this country, that put current tyrannical powers in charge, that built a system based on pure evil to exploit the common man and fuck him in the ass with no lube.

For more than 40 years I've known this country was gonna burn someday, the demographics are changing, the boomers are croaking, the traditions are dying, the assholes in charge are being exposed. A violent revolution is right around the corner.

It’s not always generational, but can be experiential. As a whole, people don’t need to be taught how to hate, despite what people say. All it takes are continual bad experiences with certain groups to develop biases that can lead to prejudices, stereotypes and then hatred. I’ll even expose a recent developing experience here. In my neighborhood, many people from India have moved in. They crowd the streets and when you try to get through with your car, they look at you with disdain like “how dare you interrupt my gathering here?” Sure enough, nearly every neighborhood I go to with populations of Indian people, they’re doing the same thing. Couple that with experiences where they are constantly trying to negotiate or barter for things or argue incessantly to get out of things and I get tired of it. When you run into enough people of certain ethnicities who demonstrate similar traits the mind tends to generalize and all of a sudden it becomes “all (insert ethnicity here) act this way, therefore I hate all (insert ethnicity here) now.” Granted, it can easily become generational if I choose to pass it along to my offspring.

I’d like to believe that I didn’t grow up racist as I have always had friends of different ethnicities and racism was never taught in my home but through experiences, I have seen it take root in my mind and heart - now it’s up to me to continually clear out those roots and not pass it along to others, especially my offspring. Anyway, that’s my 2¢. Think of me what you will.
