If your knees hurt get some of that "horse liniment" for them. Comes in an orange bottle with a horse on it. I wrap my knees up and douse it with that stuff. Works wonders. And its OTC at most pharmacies

Wish we had some of these up here.Bw:226
Attended a powerlifting seminar put on by Rob Hall. Great coaching, was a small turnout since the seminar was postponed so many times. That meant more one on one. Got some good pointers on squats got a few things to work on. Small stuff like rooting my feet and keep my head up, breath pushed into the Diaphragm/belt and less into the lungs.
Bench was pretty good, he said no need to make any adjustments. Looks like all the hard work on my bench form has paid off.
Deadlift went well. Was a little sloppy with lighter weight. Conventional looked really good, needed to sit back a little more before the initial pull but wasn’t an issue with heavier weights. Got some good cues for sumo and pretty much had it nailed after the first rep. Just minor adjustments now. Much better than my last seminar 6 months ago where I had to reinvent my bench and squat needed so much work.
It was good to be back in a real gym. Pretty busy in there.
Dave Tate says that calf work eliminates knee problems for squats... worth a shot, no?Bw,230

Going to a seminar this weekend. Gyms opened here yesterday at partial capacity with some extra rules. I’ll probably be going back next week.

First day back in the gym. Felt good to be back. Not that the garage was so bad. Made some progress, had some solid sessions in there.
Did some stretching and mobility stuff before and after training. Also some calf work to see if it will help my knees. Got the Horse Liniment. Helps a little. Those spider bar squats were brutal. Never used that bar before. Seemed a bit heavy for speed work but the spider bar is “supposedly” easier than the SSB since the weight is a little behind center of gravity instead of in front like the SSB. Not sure I believe that.
I’ve skipped a day here or there and they do feel slightly better but it doesn’t eliminate the pain. Basically my left knee feels fine after a few days away from squat movements but there’s always the right knee hurting pretty much regardless. From climbing shit at work or kneeling. Shit doesn’t go away anymore. Been training with a small group and I’m trying not to puss out. Everyone has their aches and pains but I’m the oldest by 6 or 7 years. Waiting for a check to come in and go through with Stem cell/ PRP.Good to hear you're back in the Gym.
Cant wait to hit up some real weight and push some PRs.
Thought about maybe taking some time off squats to heal the knees?
Obviously you know your body, just wondering if you considered it
