Breaking the skinny fat cycle

I’ve always carried my fat the way most women do (mostly hips) and seem “skinny” even around 20-25% body fat. Always seem myself as an endurance athlete but wanting to break this cycle.

oh, and I’m very solidly middle age...

Anyone had success with this transformation? How did you do it and did it stick?
 
Consistency... If you are consistent with your training and diet for years, it will eventually show. If you're always inconsistent with your diet and training throughout the years that will also show.

I know it sounds lame. Lol. But everyone knows what to do, they just don't want to do it. Lol. Track your macros to a tee, and train like a mother fucker for two years straight and I guarantee you won't be skinny fat.
 
^ that’s pretty much it. The drugs are a tool. Not the heart of the process. Establish a diet, use food and cardio to create deficits to lose weight or surpluses to gain weight. Train hard and rest enough to recover. Do this for an extended period of time and things change.

Decide to cut or bulk

Learn how u respond and switch things up as u go

I’d do 1.5 grams of protein per lb bodyweight

do you do endurance exercise only? If so, you will continue to be skinny fat. I was a triathlete for a number of years and have a lot of friends from that time. When I look at them today, they are skinny fat with flesh hanging off their bodies.

I stopped the cardio only mentality. I started lifting heavy again. I limit the cardio. I stopped the “fuel up with carbs” mentality. Resistance training for longevity with cardio for health. I cleaned up my diet. I can’t give you a time estimate without seeing what you look like now. But you can do it if you put your mind to it.
