Is there a huge difference in weighing cooked vs uncooked food

Yes.

Protein goes from ~5-6g/Oz to 7-8g/Oz

Rice and potatoes are a massive difference.

Wait so the protein goes up a bit after it’s cooked?

I’m trying to see if I’ll lose out on a shit ton of calories or protein by weighing while raw instead of while cooked because I haven’t been meal prepping

Cooked food loses water weight so the density of nutrients per oz goes up

So 10oz of raw protein weighed is like 7-8oz cooked.

So technically by this information I could just read the calories on the back of the frozen bag, weigh it raw, then cook it, and it would be those same calories as it says on the back of the bag right?
Eating a whole pack of chicken is the same cals cooked or raw. The issue arises when you mix up raw weight and measure it cooked.

So I should weigh my food cooked to get the accurate calories?

Sorry this shits like 1+1 for me

So way it cooked so it doesn’t have all the water in it?

Ya so I lost about 200 grams from raw to after it was cooked, or I lost about 6 ounces.

So if I go by the label and 200 grams of chicken is 200 calories, that means 200 grams cooked right ?

I’m reading that the nutrition label is for raw food

Then I’m reading it’s for cooked food wtf

I am using an app, the nutrition label on the back of carbs says dry.

The chicken however doesn’t so I’m just gonna assume it’s raw weight and if I have issues I’ll switch

Eat all the yard birds you can. Nobody got fat eating chicken. Your realy thinking to hard about this. Im not going to say simple math cuz i guess its not.

I don’t care about getting fat I care about the protein that’s about a 50 gram protein difference raw weight vs cooked weight and no one seems to know
