Brolloks getting into PL

Plans have changed slightly. Rather than compete at a meet in a dinky toy fed, I'm either doing a push/pull in Dec or 3-lift in Jan with the largest untested fed in Oz. Depends on what my coach is keen on. The 3-lift is a qualifier for Nationals in April so that's the one I prefer.

I finished off a 5/3/1-type program this week:

Monday
Benchpress
2x2 200kg. RPE 9
Failed at 1x 210.
I'd squatted and benched the Saturday before, so my arms were a bit sore. Next time will go for 205 rather :D

Wednesday
Deadlift
2x2 280kg RPE 7
1x 300kg RPE 8

Saturday
Squat
2x2 240kg RPE 6.5
This was pretty easy, but the racks at the current gym I train at are too small, making it a bit dodgy to go heavier. Will be doing heavy squats in a mono and wraps from >260, and hopefully get to around 300kg for the Jan meet. And maybe add another 20-30kg by April.

My goal is to get close to a 850kg total by the end of next year.

More squats.

I switched back to my Chucks, and feel so much more stable walking it out compared to the Adipowers. No impact on depth, but still getting my thumbs caught in the rack :D

Entered my first comp on 20/1 - a 3-lift meet rather than push/pull, even though my squats still need a lot of work. Goals are 300/205/320. Or as close to a 800kg total as possible.

Just completed a deload week and started a 6-week program to lead up to comp. Good news is I'll be on leave for the better part of that, so can focus on sleeping, training and eating all of the carbs.

I do have a bit of a sciatica issue which is refusing to go away, but it's not preventing me from doing light squats or deads.

Satan and his slaydear dropped off my tee for the comp today :)

Quick update for those who might care: I've lost heaps of grip strength in my right hand after battling sciatica. Caused be bulging discs in my lower spine and neck. So pulled out of comp and seeing a specialist this coming week. Hopefully it will heal soon.

Hmmm...kinda neglected updating this because I was on the cruise :(

I ended up doing my first comp in early April with a dodgy right arm, which affected my grip on deads and benching.

TBH, anxiety got in the way rather than my grip, and I only managed 4/9 lifts. Fortunate to get a total at all :D

I weighed in at 327lbs. Lifts were 683/423/507 for a 1620 total.

Good lifts:

Attempted 727/452/551 on my 3rd lifts. Unfortunately unracked the bar unevenly on the squat and it tilted to the left, forcing me off balance.

Next comp is in 8 weeks, and hoping to get my deads closer to 661. I've switched to hookgrip and pulling 507 with relative ease. Should get easier once trenning :D
