Efficacy of multivitamins

Honestly I'm not sure how effective they are I take the 1 a day mens multivitamin for about 3 years straight now I never really get sick but have no way of knowing how or if it helps me I just take it to be on the safe side with the amount of vitamins an minerals are lifestyle burns through I figured it couldnt hurt to take a multivitamin

The stuff supermarket, probably worthless. Some of the more specialized supps with joint, heart, liver, kidney, etc formulas in them? Probably not worthless. I use Orange Triad + Greens, if you’re taking something I think it’s as good as it gets.

I'm glad you replied because I ordered orange triad after I saw you mention it. I like that it had stuff for digestion and a greens supp. Do you honestly feel that you benefit from it?

I can honestly say I feel better on it; digestion and ease of bowel movements is easily better. As far as the multi side goes; I doubt I’m not doing OK there just from my food intake.

Yeah I think diet is always gonna be the best answer but using a mvm to SUPPLEMENT our diet to make up for the deficiencies probably doesn't hurt. What I'd really like to do is get the vitamin/mineral test and see if I'm actually missing anything. I'd like to hear from someone who's done that

They say the hard pills are next to worthless because your body can’t digest them. There are liquid vitamins out there but I question how much of that is absorbed. I’m sure my logic is way off base, but if b12 is best absorbed IM, wouldn’t it stand to reason that all should either be absorbed via food or IM?

I have no idea but that's why I started this thread. Maybe @Dr JIM or someone has a more educated opinion

I agree it seems like anything with a benefit besides food is taken by injection I have always Ben curious as to how much mv help but I figured for 15 bucks for 7 months worth it couldn't hurt to add them into my routine if they even have a 2% affect on me its worth it that 2% over a 20 years has GTA be worth something an for how cheap they are i said fuck it ill try atleast

That’s a bit of a stretch, the jury is still out on whether it hurts of not.

I personnally feel quite off whenever I take a multi and it seems to put stress on my liver and kidneys as shown in bloodwork: I’ve tracked my bloods 3 times this year where the only variable was the multi, liver enzymes, bilirubin and creatinine were always elevated passed the upper range limit when on multi

Interesting do u mind saying what kind of mv you were taking

Thorne.

Doesn’t make a difference, I feel off with all of them: Carlson’s, Orange triad...

Ok thanks I take one a day mv I have never felt weird but also never had a blood test with that as the only variable to c how it affects me that's a good idea I'm going to get one on my next cruise with the mv an one without it to c if I have any negative affects

I have been on orange triad since the 1st elbow tendinitis appeared and would only echo your point

Miracle 2000 liquid multivitamin. Is one of the superior ones available imo. Not only is it multi vitamin it is also multi mineral.

Liquid is also better for absorption versus pills.

If you are going to take one, this is the one I suggest.
