So I tried some Phenibut last night out of desperation. Let me tell you guys, that shit is AMAZING. It takes a while to kick in, about 2 hours, but when it does, its lights the fuck out. I had woke up at like 8pm (don't ask, long story) and took some preworkout at around 9pm with 350mg of caffeine. I took the phenibut at around 12am, passed the fuck out at 2am and got 8 hours of sleep. Idk how that stuff is so good but god damn I just had to share with you guys. It blows melatonin out of the water

A narrative review of the naturally occurring inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) called phenibut in dietary supplements - ScienceDirect

A derivative of the naturally occurring inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) called phenibut is increasingly detected in dietary supplements marketed online. It is marketed as mood enhancer, for relaxation and assisting sleep, as exercise recovery aid for bodybuilders, as cognitive enhancer or ‘smart drug’, and for boosting sexual performance. Phenibut is not licensed as a medicine in European Union, the United States (US) or Australia, and was first detected in a 2011 seizure in Sweden.

In the past two years, public health concerns have been raised around its presence in potentially harmful dietary supplements in France, Sweden, the US and Australia. Search engines have also recorded an increased trend in online interest into the purchasing of and information seeking around products containing phenibut.

This short communication provides a comprehensive narrative review of extant literature currently available on this GABA derivative in relation to its legitimate clinical use, availability and use by the public, its effects, and clinical care of toxicity and dependence. It concludes with key recommendations for surveillance and regulation, public health, harm reduction, clinical care and health professional training.

Cliff notes....is it safe?

It's kinda new so not a lot of research has been done on it honestly. It was synthesized in the 1960s, so it hasn't been around very long at all. Part of the reason why it's still legal. It's not nearly as risky as a lot of steroids though in my opinion.

I will add this isn't the type of thing you want to take every night. It's for when you're really having trouble sleeping or NEED to get to sleep. Once a week should be your limit. Daily intake can cause some pretty bad withdrawal when coming off of it, from what I've read.

Edit:

It also causes INTENSE dreams. I seriously felt like I was dreaming for the entire time I was asleep, they were incredibly vivid and I would even say I was lucid for a lot of it. I distinctly remember thinking "Man, this dream is weird but I'm having fun" while I was dreaming. Go-karting in the desert and some other weird shit. It is even more intense than the dreams I get from ZMA usage, much more intense.

This substance can be highly addictive and cause a pretty wicked rebound a couple days after a single use. If you’re a recovering addict or have had problems with addiction, stay away. It will probably wind up scheduled at some point, along with kratom. Treat this stuff with respect and do some research from sites that are not run by vendors.

I agree with you, trust me. I will say it's one of those things where your mileage may vary. Some people have reported being able to take 2+ grams a day for extended periods of time with no side effects, others have reported side effects taking as little as 500mg just a single time. It seems to me if you have depression or anxiety, it will actually help and then cause a rebound when it wears off. I do not have either of these things so that's not a concern for me.

I do a lot of research on the things I put in my body, I've experimented with a lot of things. Ranging from Heroin to DMT, I know I have the self control to not get addicted so it seems like a good fit for me. I also think it's less dangerous than steroids like dbol and tren, and people seem to have no problem taking those (myself included).

Take it for what you will, it's unknown and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with an addictive personality, anxiety, or depression. I will say it's one hell of a legal sleep-aid though.
