Please pray for my friend Dave Dearth - the IFBB pro tagged with the misleading moniker "bad boy of bodybuilding" but really one of the nicest guys I've met in the sport.

He ruptured two discs in his back last month but doctors couldn't operate because they discovered a severe staff infection in L-3 L-4 disc. Doctors give him a 40% chance with medication but I don't think they know Dave!

He's a true warrior and fighter.

Send him your get well wishes:

Doctors told me I have a 40% chance this medication will kill this infection in my spine. In other words I have a 40% chance of living to November 30 th. All I want to do is train. That's the only thing I'm good at. I just want to train man that's all.

Omg! It's been 6 weeks since I've worked out! Seriously I don't know what to do. All that I am and all that I get to give love to other people comes from praying and comes from what happens to me when I can train. I don't know man....

Starting to get very tired. I've lost 38 lbs in 3 weeks. I've got to be patient and take this one day at a time. i miss training so bad. i need the gym, i need the intense spiritual fulfillment the gym brings me. this SUX!

i wish him a speedy recovery and the will and luck to make it so...i'm not on facebook but i'll ask my hubby to send well-wishes...

I assume you mean Staph (not Staff) infection? What was the source? It is unusual to have a Staph (or any) infection localize to the CNS without some other pathology. I hope he is at a tertiary facility.
The weight loss is due to a number of factors, but will be quick to regain after training.
I wish him the best.

A lot sure can happen in 7 years, and this guy still is at it I see. Here's to his rapid recovery!

Wow. Seem to be a handful of heart related issues popping around the BB community. A local classic physique kid just had a heart attack at 24 in my town. No idea what has caused it but people should step up their awareness of not only just AAS sides... but LIFE style and general health issues.

couple hundred bucks to check out a fluke outweighs the alternative if that fluke was serious.

Everyone BE SAFE!

Glad to see David Dearth pulled through again!

Curious as to why they call him the bad boy?

Dearth was also known as the Wild Child going back to about 1990. He was also part of McMahon's infamous WBF back then too. The good old days! Here's to a speedy recovery!

Sad news in the bodybuilding world with the death of David Dearth.

David was 56 years old.

The death of David is a shock to all his friends and fans as he was just on social media joking around a day ago.

According to his latest posts, David was in hospital having surgery to remove a number of abscess.

One of his close friends confirmed his death via a post on Facebook.

The cause of death was due to a heart attack while David was still in hospital.

I don't think it was a shock to most people who followed him. He stared death down on many occasions and won. Maybe we thought he would just keep on doing it. Sadly, not this time. RIP, Dave.
