The mastodon bar is what the UPA federation uses. I have a friend who has used it and the Texas squat bar. I'm not to the point yet where I absolutely need one but he is and I offered to go in half with him. He said there is no whip at all with 750lbs on it.

I was unaware that was the bar UPA used. I used it at my meet at my gym then. And my gym has 2-3 of them. I used the 55lb bar since that's what USPA uses. The bar your referencing is 65lbs, no?

It is 60lbs. We lift at a commercial gym with shitty ass bars. We do have the Texas deadlift bar but that's it. I about shit the day he put 715 on and the way that bar was whipping I thought it was going to snap or take him down. What bar does the Uspa use? I've thought about doing that federation as well just have to travel out of state for a meet

I believe the USPA uses the Texas Power bar or Squat Bar. Had a buddy do a meet in June and he said it was a Texas Power Bar.
