one poster pointed to how he might feel if his people were brought here as slaves and were treated as second class citizens up until the 1960's. my response to that is i can understand how a black would feel to an extent;however, the north faught for the liberation of black people during the civil war and more importantly,it was 160 years ago.if we dwell on hardships certain people faced 160 years ago, civilization would never progress. as far as being treated like second class citizens: they were deprived of certain rights based on color up until the mid to late 1960's. although it was based in the south,it was somewhat recent. my response is that was over 45 years ago and times have changes dramatically, get over it. also, the jews were murdered and forced into slave labor camps in the 1940's. however,40 years later in the 1980's,they were living peacefully in Germany and not dwelling on their misfortunes the way some blacks dwell on their slavery issues. sure, every now and then the jews would demand that an ex german soldier or commander be brought to justice but c'mon, slavery was 160 friggin years ago.
another poster mentioned how blacks claim their problems are due to lack of jobs. the poster then pointed out that if there were truely no jobs, what the hell are all of those mexicans doing risking their lives to get to america and work!@ the fact is,the illegal mexicans do find work and have very strong work ethics. so now the question is this: what jobs are the blacks referring too?
i still feel strongly that their is to a certain extent,a lack of morals in the black community that needs to be addressed by black leaders. there are alot of hard working blacks and i know a few(i like and respect them very much),however,as a whole, their community is littered with teen pregnancy, drug abuse, crime, too many children born out of wedlock. if you noticemit seems that the grandmother's take on the role of parent while the mother is out clubbin and doing god knows what. i just don't get it.
