Why vote Republican Anymore?

Rutman.....

What is American about the bible, it's a Jewish text that was written by a bunch of bronze aged middle easterners.

I'm gonna assume you're white, European decent like most of us on this board. You tell me the true history of your European ancestors and how this Christian horseshit was foisted on them. It robbed us of our true culture and turned ourselves into a bunch of circumcised Zionist cock gobblers lining up licking the boots of the so called chosen people.

It's one thing if you took some pride in your own people, but to put that book as the center piece of your nation and pride is embarrassing.

Besides most of the founders were Deists, born from the Enlightenment. Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine the two most important founders in my opinion were Deists and obsessed with personal freedom and liberty, they despised Christianity, the father of the Revolution Paine especially in his book "Age of Reason" wrote scathing critique of the bible. The bottom line is Jefferson, Paine and Franklin were all vocal in their opposition to organized religion and since Deism is all about a watch maker that winds a clock and leaves its creation to itself, it has no hold, dogma or dictates on any of us and most importantly it has absolutely no scriptures to follow at all.

As for the flag, that is just a piece of cloth. You can whip people up into nationalistic frenzy, insist they say a pledge of allegiance, but at the end of the day the flag doesn't have a brain, eyes or ears, it doesn't care if you worship it or use it to wipe your ass.

As for guns those are important, but mostly to protect ourselves from the police and government......the government you seem to admire and yet many of us are wise enough to realize is tyrannical.

Hell is hot place... you don’t tempt God. This I do know. You need to do some REAL research on how this country was founded and research on the founders themselves and how devout they were about their beliefs in God. It had a mighty way of shaping this country in the beginning.

Wrong. It’s not socialism because it’s not a perpetual payment. Actually, since it’s the government who is shutting down the ability of people to work, this is actually more of compensation. It is far from a handout and isn’t a perpetual handout like welfare. This payment is in response to a pandemic. Socialism and welfare are systems that go on without end and work to make citizens dependent upon the government.

Really? As long as it is a single payment it’s not socialism? Based in the latest drafts of the bill, there will be an income limit, somewhere under $200k (for MFJ tax filers) to qualify. There is no adversely affected provision to qualify for the payment. You qualify simply based on income level. Sounds like socialism to me. You know, the rich don’t get the payment, but the poor(er) people do. Redistribution of wealth.

edit: I do think the payments are necessary given our situation. Just calling it like it is.

No, it’s a far cry from socialism. Again - if it was a continual thing like Yang or whatever his name is in CA proposed, then yes, it would be socialism. Not to mention, we’re probably going to be taxed on it like we were with Bush’s checks. Are welfare recipients even taxed? No, they’re not. However, it appears the Trump checks more than likely will be taxed. Here's how your coronavirus rescue check from the government could be taxed

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the difference between a one time payment and perpetual payments as to what qualifies and what doesn't’ as socialism. Essentially, the wealthy don’t get the money and the poor do. Redistribution of wealth no matter what you call it. Anyway, we can agree to disagree, no big deal.

Thx for the link. As far as the structure of the payments, timing, taxability, income levels, etc....still in draft format. We’ll know more next week.

That’s my understanding of socialism - it’s a perpetual system that takes care of you (yes, I’m aware people use the argument that police, fire, military, etc are socialism.. not even going down that rabbit hole) and makes you dependent on the government, much like welfare, which non working people receive and working people pay for. In this instance, those who receive this are a mix of people who do and do not work for it (which I disagree with, but again, another rabbit hole).

Definitely agree to disagree and thanks for keeping conversation level headed. Definitely looking forward to the help.

This government bailout is nothing more than election cycle pandering. Trump was listening to Yang with the UBI and he realizes young and old are hip to it.

Lets be honest the Fed just adds some zeros on a computer and it's done. No one has to go down into a gold or silver mine with a pick axe and jackhammer to get this stuff. It's just funny money, product of imagination.

I understand what you’re getting at. I look at socialism (and most everything for that matter) on a sliding scale.....very few things are truly black and white. Your examples are far on the socialism spectrum, whereas handing out free money (maybe free...we’ll see) in the form of a one time payment is lower on the scale.

Here’s to gains, and I hope you have a home gym!

Keep hoping for me man, because I don’t

Also, Sanders wants to end the war on drugs which will eventually make it not a crime to possess and use AAS. For that reason alone he gets my vote.
If he wins and implements his proposals, you won't have Money to buy gear. Heck you won't be able to get your TRT. At least now you can still buy it.

Actually I've read the bible from Genesis to Revelation, including the apocrypha and much of the pseudepigraphia from both the intertestimental period and the writings that came after the 1st century new testament. It's precisely because I've read the extensive writings of the Jews and the vast collections of stuff that wasn't allowed to become conical that I see how the Jews were very good story tellers, they had a knack for creating myths, you could say they took middle eastern sci-fi writing to a whole other level.

When you read the stuff that was left out of the bible and how much the Jews believed this stuff, not just the stuff in the bible, but the stuff most will never bother reading, campfire tales people told each other in a desert for the bored, they needed stories and myths to keep their people together and it worked, however it's not my culture, these aren't my people, I won't bow to their 2000 year old Jewish zombie myth or their god of war called Yahweh that came from the canon of the Canaanites starting with El.

You'd be surprised that atheists often know more about the bible than most of your seminary scholars. Myself I regularly debate street preachers, even had one pull a gun on me one time and threaten to shoot me because he thought I was satan.

Never met a more batshit crazy group of people then those that believe in the nonsense produced in the middle east, that goes for both Christians, (especially)Muslims and Jews.

As for the foundering of this nation, there was many people that were steeped in Christianity the dominant religion. Of course we live in age where one, if they want to be considered sane, has to defer to reason over blind faith. What the ancients did shouldn't be held to just because they lived thousands of years ago making them wise by default. If we study the Roman Empire and their understanding of science, medicine it was vastly superior in every way to what the Jews produced, but eventually Christianity became the religion of the land and eventually this retarded the great civilization the Romans had built and ushered in the dark ages. Instead of building on their knowledge, they now spent their time praying to a jewish messiah and looking for pagan heretics to torture that refused to convert to a bullshit religion. It was Galileo that peered into space and realize that there is more to life than religion and for that he was placed under house arrest for daring to question the church.

That's the true purpose of mankind, a quest for truth, we can't base our lives on hearsay of middle eastern goat herders. Hearsay doesn't stand up in the court of law and it shouldn't in our personal lives either, and there's no greater hearsay than the bible.

I wish that were true, but the money is backed by quite a lot of force. Far more effort than digging it out of the ground. The police, Secret Service, military, numerous spy networks, and especially the IRS all enforce the legal tender proclamation that allows the Fed, the banks and the government to destroy our savings at will.

Also, the bailout isn't pandering to the election, but just the opposite. The election, the virus, the whole of the MSM is pandering to the bailout. Nothing can be allowed to interfere with the elite collecting their loot from the rube populace. The rubes being us, of course.

There was quite a backlash from the bailout of 2008. This time I haven't heard much complaining at all. It may in fact be Trump's entire purpose for being president. This time the Fed doesn't have a Volcker, and the white house doesn't have a Regan. Wall Street will get everything it asks for, meanwhile we rubes sit around worrying about catching the flu.

I saw there was a whole bunch of bullshit the dems wanted to throw in that had ZERO to do with helping Americans.

Although I see they want to up it to $1500/person.

Perhaps, but every republican voted in favor of the bill.

The sticking point with Dems (why none voted for) was $500 billion going to corporate bailouts with flimsy protections that restrict corporate stock buybacks. Look it up. Remember the last tax cut 2+ years ago, the countless billions that went to share buybacks? This should outrage anybody, regardless of political leaning, unless you are a billionaire.

Edit: the vote went 47-47.... not sure which of the 6 didn’t vote. Rand Paul most likely didn’t vote since he is positive for Covid-19.

From what I gather, no stock buy backs can be done until 2 years have passed. A lot of the media makes out like the companies will just buy stock with the money immediately. That’s just not true.

Now they’re wanting to add money to refugees outside of the country, abortion funding, and other things that have nothing to do with thus situation. Just pass the bill the way it was negotiated....which was bipartisan in the senate.
