When Should I eat?

Hello

So recently I've been stuck on my afternoon shift ( which i love ) and I'm in need of advice.

Usually I wake up around 11-12 and make a big time breakfast ... 3-5 eggs, asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, quinoa ( with peppers and mushrooms ) then Id wait an 45 minutes and start making my way to the gym. I recently was talking to this nutritionist who said I should go to gym when I get up and workout on an empty stomach.OR take a scoop of straight protein to spike insulin levels. I started doing that this week and I feel fine.. ( for now? ) So my question is do I stick doing the empty stomach go crush a workout / end with a bit of cardio or do I eat a big breakfast wait and go kill it?

I'm 205-210 lbs around 15-20% Body fat.. Im trying to stay around the 200 weight but have like 8-10% BF.

Im also running a test cycle 250mg x 2 / week..

Any advice on my eating would be greatly appreciated!

I don't like going to the gym empty but I also don't stuff my face right before cause it hurts my workouts and makes me lethargic.
A protein bar and a glass of milk works good and then I do a big meal after and then after that my protein shake.

You should eat and then wait 1-2 hrs to lift. This is so all the nutrients and blood can be focused on muscles. If you eat and then mift the blood will be doing two things...Getting the nutrient from the foos in the stomach and also go tothe muscles lifted. Which is why you get nauseas and feel like your going to yak when you workout right after eating.
You want the blood to only focus on the muscles...not on both the stomach and muscles.

I eat a sweet ptoatoe 2 hrs before lifting and have a gatorade during lifting.

I definately don't think your nutritionist is looking at it from a bodybuilder standpoint. it's like driving a car in a race with no gas in the tank. Fasted cardio is a whole different story though.
