Wherever my lingo is off, please bear with me, half of that stuff I am still researching for myself...
There is even UnstoppableSwap, which so far only allows for BTC->XMR, but my understanding is that they could add more currencies to the protocol.
But I can see the argument being made by @OilCarrier .
Regarding exchanges, this is not so much an issue with services like trocador, or even better, running a decentralised non-custodial coin swap software like Haveno.

The only thing I can tell you is that the guys, that I know, all recommended me Graphene. And some of them rely on such stuff to make a living.

Coinbase doesn't support XMR, but Kraken does and there are other only slightly complex other ways.
There's legit no reason to avoid using XMR when you're selling drugs.
Go on Tor and check out DrugHub. XMR is the only supported token.
I admit, I use BTC for Chinese vendors.
But I'm less worried about that as I'm not ordering anything controlled.
It's the local domestic dealers I just don't get. Yeah, the risk is not anywhere near as high as if they were selling cocaine or heroin, but it's risk I'd prefer not to take.

As long as you anonymise properly inbetween, paying with BTC is AFAIK as secure as XMR.
It will just cost you more in fees, which could be prevented. if Tracy and his drug dealing friends would not consider XMR to be useless crypto.

theres been reports since 2024/early 2025 that telegram and signal have been compromised aswell, not internally like signal but russian state hackers have been able to locate and pry into users of these apps messages in ukraine with the ongoing war there.
we probably need a more secure alternative soon, session is the way to go over telegram and signal as apps.

session hell yeah baby, unlike telegram it has e2ee by default, it does not collect metadata & ip addresses like telegram, it dosent require phone number or email to sign up. its decetranlized and uses onion network.
both telegram and signal isnt open sourced on the back end, this is the most important. only the client is open source.
while session is full open source. session has my backing 100%
but its compromised internally, so we have no good sources that are big for messaging

i will talk like a normal human being for people who just skimmed our articles:
im giving critique that session stores your messages online for 14 days. this means if anyone were ever able to get your keys(the police, they could read your old messages even if they're deleted).
that is the only downside, once the other end reads the messages they're from the swarm nodes.
although session itself is 100% more secure than telegram and signal.

Session has been terrible for me. I currently only have on contact in there, but messages don't pushed through, it crashes and whatelse.
As the only messenger this would make it unusable. If I don't get my messages delivered, or get other messages delivered to me, what is the point of using that messenger?
