Water intake

Always downing a tons of water... Some say it is not right, but I always go by what my body is asking for in terms of water intake

Going over 5 litres a day is actually very dangerous and can kill you if you don't space it out over a 24 hour period. If you don't believe me go and do some research into water poisoning-intoxication and hyponatremia. 2 to 3 litres is optimal even if you're exercising hard in hot weather and sweating a lot. Little sips and often is the best and safest way to stay hydrated.

Might start looking into it, as I've said, heard a lot about that it might not be too good, so i'm guessing I have to take it under some sort of control

It's a devil in disguise. It's a great CNS stimulant but it's also a very strong diuretic/laxative. Not a good substance for staying hydrated all day. Better to avoid it apart from pre w/o.
I drink a gallon and a half of just plain water each and every day. I'm hydrated regardless of coffee

That's cool if it works for you but excessive caffeine intake is bad for hydration and fluid regulation/retention and that was my only point.
You are correct, and maybe a point of concern for the guys drinking a pot a day. But the 100-200mg of caffeine from 1-2 cups of coffee a day for us moderate drinkers isn't going to have any effect at all and that diuretic effect can even be beneficial in some scenarios, provided that your water intake is sufficient.

I think it's hard to say some arbitrary amount of water to drink a day to be hydrated. I think you would need to take in account how much water and how quickly it's being excreted through sweat urin ect.

I could easily assume someone living in Arizona or Las Vegas could need twice the amount if daily water as someone living in a colder northern climate, considering daily activity of course.

It's true. It happened over July 4th weekend in Indiana. She left behind a husband and two young children. She was dehydrated and drank plain water, no electrolytes, in 20 minutes.

Some dogs have died from this too. Playing in the water too long and swallowing too much water.
I'm almost certain there were other contributing factors in this ladies death. Like she was also on drugs or suffering from heat stroke or something.

I also find it hard to believe you could drink 2 gallons of water in 20 minutes

I just drink however much I need to stay hydrated on that given day. If my pee gets darker, I drink more. Overthinking is the enemy sometimes for me.

i drink 100 oz + per day and feel fine, i don't sweat alot at gym but when i do happen to sweat more than usual i just drink a little extra water that works for me

how can you tell if you are properly hydrated? i drink 100+ oz a day and sometimes i will get some brief cramping but only at the lower part of outside tricep by my elbow, like when i bend my arms a little it will cramp ever so slightly? i also drink a hydration drink by "zeal naturals" which has all necessary nutrients for proper hydration and some bcaa added alsoimage.jpg

If its dehydration cramps ull most likely have cramps in legs. Mabe andomin.
Ur tris may just be getting over worked.

Urine frequency and color is how I tell I'm hydrated. Also a headache will tell me.

A good phlebotomist can always tell if I'm hydrated when I'm giving blood. Probably from the thickness of the blood or somthing mabe color also.
