Walmart Tilapia Vs. Costco

I know this is kind of a dead thread, but figured I'd throw this out there:

The kirkland tilapia "loins" that come frozen are the only tilapia I've ever been able to stomach. Honestly, I don't even know that it's tilapia. Either that, or they are genuinely getting a seriously different quality of fish from everyone else, and a much larger sized animal. I used buy the fuck out of them when I lived in Colorado. Costco is not convenient for me now, or I would still be getting them, assuming they still sell them.

Every other piece of tilapia I've had is fertilizer grade, at best. I stick with swai, or real fish when I have the budget for it.

What about all the chicken everybody eats? They're not running around in a farm somewhere until it's "their time". It's crazy how they raise the chickens so fast! I'll eat shit if it'll make me grow!
I raise my own chickens ...so mine kinda are lol. It's not the most cost effective thing to do but I like having them around and I get lots and lots of eggs. Big taste difference too.

Speaking of Costco and fish for any of you guys that eat a lot of salmon give costco's steelhead trout a shot. You won't regret it. Same nutrition and it tastes exactly the same buts it's half the price.

I like swali on portion has 30g of protein if you put apple cider finger or lemons over the fish when cooking it will kill the fish smell

Nearly all tilapia or swai found in any grocery store will be aquacultured. These two species in particular (if it is true swai) are not known for being the cleanest or healthiest options available regardless of their purchase location.
