Re: Shot/Killed - Arizona Congresswoman

 no offense, but ur gonna find ur effort at bipartisanship is whistling in the fukn wind. as i wrote earlier, there r even some on this board who've started threads detailing this-or-that recent incident between the Federal Government and the States as being "the start of the Insurrection/Revolution".

There is an active campaign to repeal the 14th Amendment, backed by the "Tea Party". Even as a 2nd Amendment absolutist myself, meaning i myself subscribe to what's sometimes called the "Insurrectionist interpretation" of the 2nd, i can tell u that the recent SCOTUS victories via the HELLER and MCDONALD decisions have been read by a few as the actual prelude to a real revolution, not simply as the recognition of an inalienable right that has been under assault for the last few decades.

This killing was EXTREMELY POLITICAL. there r rhetorical cartwheels available to anyone to (ineffectively) pretend otherwise, but they will sacrifice their credibility quickly. it WILL be unfair to tar all tea-partiers with this event, but it would be worse to pretend that this was just "some nut"...a nut who apparently had at least one accomplice.

incidentally, i'd like to point out to my progressive brothers n sisters that FORCE INEQUALITY BEGETS VIOLENCE. decades of what can only be described as sheer Democratic pussyhood have helped create this situation. to be perfectly cold about it, perhaps this shooting will teach progressives AND Democrats to not be so despicably, cravenly afraid of political confrontation, and not be afraid of guns in the hands of citizenry.

the forces of oppression in this country have never been afraid of either, n they've been making plans for a looong time, as even Stormfront.org could reveal for u.

this mass-murder will prove a political watershed.

Probably should check your imagination. He's a left wing nut, I mean progressive wing nut and the accomplice was a cabdriver and cleared by the authorities, the shooter had to get change and the cabdriver accompanied him inside to get his fare paid.

Jared Loughner, Alleged Shooter in Gabrielle Giffords Attack, Described by Classmate as "Left-Wing Pothead"

http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2011/01/jared_loughner_alleged_shooter.php

Jared Loughner is described as a "left-wing political radical."
?A classmate of the man accused of shooting Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords this morning describes him as "left wing" and a "pot head" in a series of posts on Twitter this afternoon.

Caitie Parker did not immediately respond to our request for an interview, but her "tweets" in the hours after the shooting paint a picture of Jared Loughner as a substance-abusing loner who had met Giffords before the shooting. She says, Loughner described the congresswoman as "stupid and unintelligent."

We've confirmed that Parker and Loughner went to school together at Mountain View High School in Tucson and that both attended Pima Community College, so her claims of knowing Loughner seem to be legit.

Parker "tweets" that she and Loughner were in the band together and were friends until 2007 when he became "reclusive" after getting alcohol poisoning and dropping out of college.

She describes him as "quite liberal" and as a "political radical."

Below is a log of "tweets" posted by Parker beginning around the time of the shooting.

@antderosa it's loughner just checked my year book. less than 20 seconds ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to antderosa

@antderosa As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy. 33 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to antderosa
@antderosa he was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix,The Doors, Anti-Flag. I haven't seen him in person since '07 in a sign language class 35 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to antderosa
@antderosa He was a political radical & met Giffords once before in '07, asked her a question & he told me she was "stupid & unintelligent" 37 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to antderosa
@antderosa I can. That is him. 39 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to antderosa
@antderosa I went to high school, college, & was in a band with the gunman. This tragedy has just turned to horrific. 43 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to antderosa
Official I went to high school & college, & was in a band w/ the gunman. I can't even fathom this right now. about 1 hour ago via Twitter for iPhone

CAB DRIVER http://www.wtma.com/rssItem.asp?feedid=118&itemid=29619308
Person of Interest in Arizona Shooting Is Cab Driver
Photo Courtesy - Pima County Sheriff's Department(TUCSON, Ariz.) -- The person of interest sought for questioning in the shooting of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is a cab driver who says he drove suspect Jared Lee Loughner to the site, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities released a photo of a middle-aged white male possibly connected with the suspect in Saturday's mass shooting that killed six people, wounded 14 others and left an Arizona congresswoman in critical condition at a town hall event in Tucson, Ariz.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said the man drove Loughner to the Safeway, and then followed him inside to question him about payment.

At a press conference in Tucson Sunday, FBI Director Robert Mueller said the individual was being sought for questioning because he was seen entering a grocery store near the event with Loughner, who has been arrested for the shooting of Rep. Giffords and 19 others, but authorities did not believe that the second individual was also a shooter.

its disgusting watching either side use tragedies for political gain and doing so makes one look like an idiot. If you disagree with someone, be man enough to argue the logic and merits of your position. Demonizing them about them demonizing you, its just a retarded circle jerk. You disagree do it honestly, don't make your political arguments standing on the back of a 9 year old girl. The guy was mentally ill and you are completely wrong in your ASSumptions as is the OP in stating it was a tea party nut job.

ATTACK IN ARIZONA
Look who else put 'bull's-eye' on Giffords
Leftist blog (Dailykos) points finger at Palin, while scrubbing 'dead to me' rant

Shortly after news broke of the attempted murder of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., the left-leaning blog Daily Kos was swift to scrub its post from a Tucson writer explaining how the congresswoman was now "dead to me."

One of the blog's diary writers, identifying himself as BoyBlue, had written a post only two days before the shooting titled "My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!"

Partial screenshot of Daily Kos diary post before it was scrubbed

"I am from the Tucson area and live in Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' district," BoyBlue wrote. "Today, just a little while ago, I saw on Andrea Mitchell Reports that Giffords voted against Nancy Pelosi as our minority leader. … Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is dead to me now."

Several news sources and commentators have sought to analyze yesterday's mass shooting in Tucson that left six dead and Giffords in critical condition, while many blogs and columns have blamed the nation's heated political "rhetoric" for inspiring people toward violence against their elected officials.

Understand what's happening to America's culture and what you can do to fight it with "How Evil Works," autographed, from the WND Superstore.

Sarah Palin in particular has been singled out for criticism by CBS News, the Guardian and others for publishing a "target map" on her website using images of gun sights to identify the districts of 20 House Democrats up for election in last year's mid-terms, including Giffords.

Daily Kos joined in the criticism, and the blog's founder, Markos Moulitsas, tweeted early yesterday, "Mission accomplished, Sarah Palin," with a link to Palin's map.

Moulitsas, however, had also posted what he called a "target list" identifying Giffords. In a 2008 Daily Kos post, Moulitsas listed Giffords as one of dozens of representatives with "a bull's-eye on their district" for being a "bad apple" Democrat.

The "dead to me" diary has since been deleted from Daily Kos, while Moulitsas' "target list" is still viewable.

(Story continues below)

Police have named and apprehended 22-year-old Tucson resident Jared L. Loughner as the perpetrator of yesterday's massacre, making it highly unlikely that "BoyBlue" is also the shooter.

The Daily Kos diary writer identifies himself as a "gay" man whose wife left him last year and who suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face. BoyBlue also appeared on the blog again today, issuing an apology to "this site, the victims and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords."

"Most of you know by now my diary bemoaning Rep. Giffords' voting against Nancy Pelosi has been taken by the far right to preemptively protect themselves," Boy Blue writes of his now-scrubbed, previous post.

"I made a VERY poor choice of words when I partially titled the diary, 'now dead to me,'" he continues. "Of course I wished no harm to Gabby."

He continues, "I fully apologize to all the victims in this shooting, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, for my poor choice of words in that diary. I fully and respectfully apologize to this blog and to Markos himself for the bad publicity amongst the right wing this has caused. … I apologize to the DailyKos membership and readership for being maligned by the far right blogs.

"However, I have to offer a heartfelt 'f--- you' to the right-wing blogs," he writes, "for even mentioning my username here in any connection to that unspeakable and unthinkable horror."

In his "apology" post, BoyBlue twice states that he suspects the shooting is instead best blamed on supporters of Giffords' opponent in the 2010 mid-terms, Republican Jesse Kelly.

"I would bet my house that it will come out that some disgruntled former Jesse Kelly right-wing supporters did this," BoyBlue writes.

No wonder why 38% of the population is now independent rather than *insert derogatory term* Dems or Repulicans who act like they are in high school. I bet I could point how logically incorrect this fingerpointing is for days without reaching a single braincell on either side. No wonder the system is broken. The Dems and Reps have to cater to their base of (folks with the mental aptitude/ability of tweens) who will say or do anything to make the other side look bad and do so in such obvious hypocritical ways. Sorry if I am being harsh but cmon guys, you are going to have egg on your face if you use a nutjob to make your political points

 behold jomama getting indigant, wrapped in his moral superiority.[:o)]

try as u might, u wont be successful in equating the gay guy's "she's dead to me" comment with the forthrightly violent and ominous rhetoric coming out of multiple conservative quarters for a couple of years now, at least...no matter how many rightwing bloggers join u in the effort.

further, my qualified comment on an "accomplice" was written after that was announced, n b4 the new guy had been cleared...OF COURSE u knew that already, but ur determined to hang on to this silly posture of "sober even-handedness", even if u don't do it very well. u should leave that posture to Congressional leaders who have made it an art form.

as for the politics of the shooter, we have some tweets claiming him "liberal", and his own youtube channel ***SO FAR*** suggesting him to be a demented paleo-conservative would-be revolutionary.

i'd tone down the self-congratulation and pious finger-wagging about 75-80% if i were u, at least until u have better arguments n more solid evidence.

What Palin Needed to Say After Giffords Shooting
January 10th, 2011 at 4:30 am DAVID FRUM
http://www.frumforum.com/what-palin-needed-to-say-after-giffords-shooting

[As I said above, Palin is sunk. More and more people will gravitate away from her regardless of causation, blame, association, etc. Palin IS Poison. Palin is a self-serving money grabber, which is perfectly fine as a private citizen but not as a politician or hoping to have a political career or influence. Conservative/Republican establishment have been wanting a sure fire way to dismiss and rid her from the inner circle. All knew that in time Palin would do the dirty deed herself. There will be plenty to fill the vacuum.]

Re: Shot/Killed - Arizona Congresswoman

Knight Of The Long Knives in the GOP? too violent an imagery?

too soon? :D

God, where to start. The guy is being called by his college buddies a left-wing nut and a pothead. So enough of the conservatives are evil crap. The real fact is it does not matter. Look at his rantings and it is obvious the guy is a certifiable nut job who even dabbled in the occult.

And in case you forgot your history, and before you go wetting your pants and licking your lips about all this - sniff sniff - rhetoric in politics, lets take a trip down memory lane shall we? The stuff we hear today is nothing - I mean NOTHING - compared to what our own founders said to each other. So quit with the BS. Want an example, then look no further than this:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_zTN4BXvYI&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Attack Ads, Circa 1800[/ame]

So find your balls and quit being so emasculated. Just because some idiot decides to act like an idiot does not make anyone on either side guilty. It's just plain politics. Ever heard of Machiavelli? Guess what - the predictable blame game being played out with only half-hearted attempts to ask for civility are using you as a tool. That's what politicians do. The difference between you and I is that I don't let myself be used as a tool and I know when these idiots are trying to manipulate my emotions. I think for myself.

I expect my representative to represent me even if it means throwing around some tough rhetoric. Anyone who can't handle it can curl up in a fetal position and cry cause this is how men (and women) play politics. It is not meant to be pretty. It's an ugly, in your face, down in the dirt, mudslinging, screw your opponents to the wall game. Reagan once called politics the second oldest profession in the world, with much in common with the oldest profession. What's next? We gonna cry about the seedy underworld of prostitution and act surprised that it is not all fairy dust and gingerbread houses in that part of our society? Please.

It is what it is.

first of all, "it is what it is" is simply idiotic, useless language...semantic filler and exactly nothing more. it's u trying to vanish in a small puff of semantic smoke.

next, i'm well aware of how vicious politics has always been thru most of history, and i'm sure u read my derisive n backhanded compliment to the "sober even-handedness" and how the poster jomama should "leave that posture to Congressional leaders who have made it an art form."

it's irrelevant to the fact that this latest nut (lefty, righty, occultist, whatever the fuck he is) developed his dementia amidst a political environment WHERE EVEN GUYS SUCH AS YOURSELF POST YOUTUBE VIDEOS DECLARING THE START OF THE 2ND AMERICAN REVOLUTION, with States supposedly ready to go to war with the Federal Government.

don't stop tho, i didn't think u'd backpedal THIS hilariously![:o)]

Tim Pawlenty jabs Sarah Palin over 'cross hairs'
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0111/47413.html

[Palin has nothing to worry about from the Left. It will be her own that feed and devour her if she tries to further any political ambition. Her immediate actions after the shooting speaks to the truth of her intentions. This fits better for the Republican party. As with Pawlenty, watch the dance of the politically ambitious. It is instructive to note that Palin is incapable of a live interview (i.e., in hiding). It is always scripted. This adds to her reputation as being an idiot. Palin IS Poison. However, she will continue to make plenty of money, which is her real goal.]

based on that video, i'm expecting a very sloppy PR battle to come between Tea Party backers n most everyone else. even tho gmerits n some others here have talked about armed revolution against the US Govt, they will be doing cartwheels to distance themselves from this guy, even as the media will spotlight the "extreme rhetoric/lone wolf" dynamic.

as to Loughner(sp?) himself, i do hope they can euthanize him quickly...it IS Arizona, after all. hopefully any Federal trial wont happen in a namby-pamby circuit.

euthanization requires mercy, yes? and the death penalty isnt sufficient retribution. lets rename it apoptosis. somethings very wrong and cant be corrected. get rid of it.
anyone anti death penalty? how much time or money are you willing to contribute to keeping this man alive. and for what?

Are you SERIOUSLY trying to pin this on Sarah Palin? Am I missing something here because it CERTAINLY looks like you are trying to say Sarah Palin had a hand in this...

Get a grip man... I KNOW you are smarter than that...

The Incoherence Of Palin
The Incoherence Of Palin - The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan

A reader notes:

How about this for logic:

1. "Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own. They begin and end with the criminals who commit them."

2. "Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn."

In the first statement, she is saying that you can't incite people to violence, they stand on their own. The second statement, however, makes the opposite claim (that you can incite people to violence).

I, like others, have in no way pinned this on Palin. It is her inability to recognize the inflammatory rhetoric of the day. Palin is clueless. Palin chooses the day dedicated to mourning for the victims to "mourn" for herself. As I said, this was a well-planned assassination. Not I or anyone truly knows the motives, but it is undeniable that the nature of the crime speaks loudly to the greater context. "Get a grip man... I KNOW you are smarter than that..." [Palin IS an Idiot. Palin's contradictory self-serving statements reveal her true nature. Poor Pitiful Persecuted Palin.]

really??? What politician is not a money grabber? All this philosophical rambling eludes simple facts and truths! Both parties have sold the American people down the river. It's all Sara Palin's fault, how obsurd!
