Trivia

Try this one.

Three people check into a hotel. They pay $30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager finds out that the room rate is $25 and gives $5 to the bellboy to return. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that $5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person. Now each person paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each, totalling $27. The bellboy has $2, totalling $29. Where is the remaining dollar?

that was my point. ;)

hey.. did you just say "they both average", does that include the stops?, if so then they arrive at the same time and the 15 mins stops are for confusion only!

i don't see average in your original post!?!?! i don't get it, you owe us the real answer pal!! :confused:

That's because it doesn't matter jackson, it's a simple problem with a simple answer, using the word average would confuse people like yourself, it's kinda a trick question, your reasoning is logical though just not right.

louie think hard about this one.

$25 to the hotel
$ 2 to bellboy
$ 3 to guys
--------
$ 30

There is no leftover dollar. The $10-1 is for confusion only.

$9 per guy = 27 MINUS the $ 2 for the scamming bellboy = $25, which is the amount paid for the room.

You subtract the $ 2 from the $ 27 paid, not add it.

Bob you have redeemed yourself, I would have left the answer alone for a while, hearing everyone's anwers is funny but your breakdown leaves no room for question. The $2 should be subtracted not added to the $27.

They paid 8.3333 for the hotel room and all 3 got a dollar back, and the bus boy keep 2 should come up to 29.99, where the penny went I do not know. One person paid an extra penny? Maybe this is a puzzle that cannot be solved?

THAT ONE WAS EASY..

come get me when you get another one, i'll be over at the "how to fold a flag" thread... how can i locate that chick bob? any ideas?

Actualy whats really funny is when someone takes a while to post an answer and someone else posts the right answer before them, then they look dumb, no offense to anyone. :p

Here's one more since Bob ruined the last by answering so quickly.

Try this one on for size. :D

Which Box Contains the Gold? Two boxes are labeled "A" and "B". A sign on box A says "The sign on box B is true and the gold is in box A". A sign on box B says "The sign on box A is false and the gold is in box A". Assuming there is gold in one of the boxes, which box contains the gold?
