Torn Pec

1 week in. Feels better then day one. Take it out of sling while home. Taking no meds at this moment. Took my trt last night.

Doing legs 3x a week.
Doing 45 min walks on beach AM
Doing gym bike 6x a week 20-30 min
Doing stretching with sling on 3x a week (30 min) alternating days with workouts, anything lower body, and my gym has that metal stretch cage, which allows to put legs up without holding them, like for example the quad stretch.

So by the time my injury heals, my flexibility will be much better along with cardio.

When doing do exercise i weat the heavy duty sling tight and snug. I dont feel any discomfort. I am being careful there.

For legs i do all plate loaded

Calf press
Aductor
Abductor
Leg press
Quad ext
Hammy seated curls
Calf

I just have gone half the weight i usually do, i do more reps, and slow eccentric, like a
3-1-2-2 tempo

Actually sleeping puts more strain on the shoulder/ches then exercise feels like it.

Glad to hear, keep taking it easy. I know it’s not easy to pull back, but youll be much better off this way

Good deal jj. I'm like you. I'm stubborn and would want to get back at it asap. Glad you're taking it slow.
Because exercise is whats helps mentally, even more than physically. Its one of the few things i have known that actually takes my mind away from thinking.

And i do my worst when thinking lol

In 4 weeks i should have complete range of motion.

A bb’er at my gym he did legs only for 4 months. When he tore pec.

I am 5 weeks on just trt. Will be continuing trt until healed. healed meaning when doc said i can for full force.

how would one go about introducing cycling again once healed?

What did the surgeon say about healing time?

In my experiences, I counted down the days to two important dates: (1) the day I could start lifting again (with baby weights); and (2) the day I could lift without restrictions.

I wouldn’t hop on the sauce right away , take a prolonged break / health phase. You’ll thank yourself down the road , your size will recover FAST just from lifting again.

Ok. Sounds good.

From surgery date,
6 weeks full range of motion back, with PT.
He said 10 weeks “good to go” knowing i bodybuild and personal train but didnt ask to elaborate as i was just so focused on getting the surgery done.

Will get more info and ask clarification this week when i see them, more detail.

See Doc Thurs,

Does an MRI pose any risk if posted? Or would that have some weird hidden data that would be trackable?
Since some people asked like @Bumpygooch

Fuck, my surgery fell through with this guy. Have another booked, making this urgent now. Ans not waiting for the online stuff, straight to the doc and luckily they do know this injury need to be done.

So monday it is for talking and hope this week will be done. At this point i just want it done.

They actually canceled my surgery because i took suboxone 1 year ago and they found out i was once an addict. How it that possible? Dont people need help regardless of what they went through in the past
That's insane. They can just use propofol to knock you out. It burns going up your veins but once it hits you it's lights out. Then they give the pain meds after you're out. You wake up feeling groggy but you don't get any rush or high at all. You're just groggy and bleh. They may not prescribe pain meds for afterwards but it is what it is.

I forget if you're in the US but in the US they will look at all the meds you've been scripted in the last 6 years. After 6 years it falls off the list. That may change at some point.

The way people with drug abuse in their past are treated is just evil. I wish you the best!!

Lol this reply was way late. For some reason I thought I was on the most recent post but I was like 2 pages behind. My bad!

I just caught up, I am really glad to hear you're doing well!!

Did you end up running the peptides? I would definitely do BPC and TB given the info you provided. I used BPC after my surgeries and the doctor was really impressed with how fast I healed and how little scarring I had.

I have the bpc and tb, havent used yet. What dose and protocol and how long did you run it?

I may start soon

So after talking to doctor…

-Week 3, which is this week, no more sling
Start PT.
-Week 4 passive ROM exercises, with phases of angle measured stretches, for example a Abduction to 45 degrees.
-Week 6-9 active ROM exercises, continued. Increase as patient can.
Goal-symetrical bicep and tricep weight training
-Week 10-14 Restoration of ROM for weight bearing training, theraband work
-Week 13 Goal- No restriction training and weight lifting.

That said they said i can go for legs now, and can do left side of body now. As long as I make sure to not contract that right pec.

Because i tore at the tendon and the muscle, the part at the muscle is weaker then tendon when repaired, so have to be more mindful of that.

I tore my right pec in my early 20s and took almost an entire year to get back into the groove of things (mostly because I didn't want to rush it). Really humbling experience and still remember the baby weights I had to start off with on DB Chest Press (10lbs) but time will fly by and next thing you know it you're back at full force. Expect a good amount of tenderness for a few months at start, it eventually goes away.

Time off really let me re-evaluate my lifting technique and my overall goals (no more 5x5 for example). Wish you a speedy recovery.
