Actually books tell us too many things ... Only very few books that i read in the past actually say heavy weight to be best for hypertrophy,but they never get into the type of Hypertrophy . Some guys say 8 is the magic rep # for Muscle fiber hypertrophy .. some say less and some say more ... IMO heavy weight low reps is the easiest way to build muscle size and strength ... I didn't say the fastest way,just the easiest. I think to get the most muscular development,we need to do a combination of high rep/low rep work .. Muscle fiber types being a major difference with how our muscles respond to different rep schemes,so yes i agree with you ... kind of
