Yeah I've buried so many damn friends in recovery it's fucking ridiculous. Went to about 16 funerals last year. One hit home for me though. He was gonna be my best man this year.

I have mad respect for military guys. I can't imagine man. I have had friends violently taken in front of me by knife and firearms but damn being in combat has to be tough.

I live in a major pro football town and I see this all the time. I have a good friend who played for the team over a number of years...while he cares, he's not REMOTELY as emotionally attached which is the rule not the exception. Now I can at least tolerate the people who care a lot - I like the parties, tailgates and good natured fun that goes with it as long as it has some perspective and not over the top....the ones who get drunk/violent and obnoxious. Fucking their loser lives.

We had really good seats one time where the players could hear us. One dude (in our area, not with me) from a different state is calling one of his players a bum and the player can fully hear him and is looking back right at him. I told the guy, my rule for personal comments is that you need to be willing to do that face to face and on terms where one of you isn't at your place of employment trying to earn a paycheck for a family. Mr. 160lbs 50 year old wanna be shut the fuck up.
