Tips For Increasing Protein

Looking for some quick and easy ways that you guys have found to increase your protein intake…besides protein shakes. I’m running out of ideas.
I know there are some beasts here that consume a huge amount of protein in a day. How are you doing it?

1. Eat 6 meals a day of 50+ grams of protein
2. ???
3. Grow

There are no secrets. Eating big isn’t comfortable.

That was the biggest thing to keep in mind when I first realized I wasn’t eating enough over a decade ago. It’s not comfortable. It’s also boring and time consuming. Now that I’m getting ready to ramp things up I guess I was just hoping there was a secret. Ha.
 
Drink a carton of egg whites with your meal? The little 16oz ones are 50g protein and have the consistency of water. Literally takes 20 seconds to chug and theres 50g protein.
 
I personally think always looking to increase protein is a mistake for a lot of guys but I don't know your goals.

If you wanna grow and pack on size....it's carbs you should increase first (and they're much easier to eat than protein).

I feel like I have lots of ideas for getting carbs up…
I just sometimes run out of ideas for increasing protein that doesn’t involve cooking meat or mixing a shake.

There will never be anything as quick and convenient as a protein shake.....even if that just means only having 1 scoop in a bit of water with each solid meal.

If you take meat out of the equation....all that's left is dairy, fish, and legumes like beans/lentils/chickpeas.

You could also try bugs and insects if you wanna be adventurous :)
 
what’s your daily intake as is?
For the last year I’ve been hovering in and around maintenance because I’ve been out with an injury and activity was limited. Starting to increase slightly for the last bit as my progress has me in physical therapy 3 days a week. So now I’m getting about 200 grams of protein a day.

Im 225 lbs

I’m just in anticipation of being in full form in a month and know it’ll be time to ramp things up when I get back to the gym.

Even the idea here of throwing in a shake along with a meal is a good tip. I always associate protein shakes with supplementing a meal.

Bugs, maybe last resort. Hah

A weight gainer shake could be considered as a meal replacement coz it has protein, fats, carbs and other stuff.

A protein shake is usually just a pure injection of protein and not much else.

True true.
I guess when I say protein shake I mean smoothies that have a bit of everything in em.

But yah, just some protein powder in water along with a meal be a quick way for some extra protein.
