Time to say goodbye friends

I feel you, I'm 56. Been lifting most of my adult life. I've had 4 surgeries in the last 15 months. 2 knee, and reverse shoulder replacement on both shoulders. I went from a lean 250-260 to 210 pounds. Still using HGH, and I'll probably throw some primo in the mix every now and then. The good news is my health overall is very good. Joints are fucked though.

Till the wheels fall off Brother! Literally.

I wonder if low dose hgh would be ok or if it's best to stay clear due to my heart issue. I'll always be considered to have heart failure but the meds keep me normal.
Have you tried bpc-157 peptide for your joints? It works pretty good for joint pain.

Yeah, I'm using HGH, bpc-157, tb-500, peg-mfg, and Thymosin Alpha 1 for pre and post surgery. Doctors and physical therapist are amazed with my quick recoveries.

Below-normal HGH and IGF-1 are associated with heart failure in elderly, but would be interesting to hear what your doc thinks about HGH supplementation since it's not standard practice for HF, although that's one of the many reasons we keep IGF-1 at normal or above levels for our age.

Good video. It is weird how the body works. Its like there's a built in system to keep the balance.

My body parts that need trained (aren't genetic) are biceps, chest, and shoulders. I wish my biceps were as big as my triceps. Every other muscle group seems to just fall in line. Training legs, when younger, was just fun. Remember I'm not going to be competing. If I was I'd have to hit everything at least a bit.

My sister is about 5'5" and 130 lbs. Her legs and calves are big for a woman... especially her calves. Both our parents have big calves. It used to really bother her as a child. She likes it now since her friends always comment about their Jealousy.

I have never been able to get my arms over 18". Thank God for triceps!

Well for being in my 50s, disabled, and having to reduce size for health... I think I'm ok with this. Only been back at the gym for a whole 2 weeks. Just some machines and light dumbells. I'm not gonna have to deal with being sore as fuck. So I'm starting slow. Cycle is test p 75mg and mast p 50mg eod.

5'9" 225lbs-230lbs (I put on about 5 lbs water) and about 12% bf I'd guess. I'm still shooting for 10% bf. I'm a little sweaty (I didn't oil down lol) in this pic. The reduction in muscle mass is pretty obvious. I'm trying really hard to NOT add any mass! Yes I know my cycle isn't necessary if I don't want to add mass... I'm fucking trying man!

I feel like I'm cheating because I barely workout. It's tough trying not to have an intense workout. It's gonna take some time being ok with barely lifting lol.

As somebody who is in his late 50s and also downsized for health, I will just volunteer that I took a different approach. I still work out pretty intensely. I do not really do "steroids" - I spent two years at 75 mg of testosterone a week, nothing else. I have for a long time now been at 120mg a week and 3 iu hgh.

I backed off the volume a little. I take more rest days. But when I am in the gym I still hit it pretty hard, trying to add a rep or two to what I did last time (always write it down), just not so many exercises and sets as I did before. The upside of less volume is that I no longer feel like puking on leg day.

I also try to be more disciplined about cardio than I used to be in the off season.

And I control my food - less of it.

Your quads look impressive from that angle!

Thanks for the compliment. Cardio is a thing of the past for me now. I've ran so many 5ks during military life I don't think I'll miss it. I can't even do a stationary bike anymore. I'm pretty frustrated with the VA so I'm now going to a neurologist outside the VA. First appointment is next month. They just have me classified as having a neurological disorder and have pretty much given up on figuring out what's going on. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of autoimmune disorder like CIDP. Probably brought on from chemical exposure while on active duty.

I'd rather work then be a home body. I've never been the type to be able to stay still for long. I didn't get my BA for nothing. Maybe some day I'll get this figured out. Quality of life really sucks right now. Just between you and me... I don't think I'm gonna be able to drop intensity either. It just feels so good!

Maybe the Mike Mentzer approach is in my near future lol. I only need to train 2x a week to maintain so it sounds about right.

I'm not sure if you can tell or not but my left leg in that pic is slightly smaller then my right. And I'm left side dominate. Nerve damage is a bitch!

Thank you for sharing about this. I just got a call from my cardiologists office about this very same thing. I'm fucking freaked the fuck out. I immediately came to the forum to search for info on the 2 medications they prescribed, and found your thread. Reading about your ability to improve your LV EF is exactly what I needed to hear right now. I'm thrilled that you are doing better.

I'm 48, never ran gear or test or anything before. I want to start PED's, and put myself through a series of medical appointments before starting. I started HGH a month ago, been waiting to start test until I had a full overview of my health. My natural test right now is 623. I'm 5'10, 167, and fit.

Started with a calcium score, result was 45
Primary Care referred me to Cariologist
Cardiologist had me do a stress test and echocardiogram
Stress test results were great, it said my exercise capacity was "Excellent"
Then this afternoon they called about my echocardiogram, and said my LV EF was 45%, and to start taking metoprolol and valsartan.

I did not know what low LV EF was, so I asked if there was a name for the condition and they said "well, there isn't really a name for it, its just referred to as heart failure". Fucking soul jumped out my body hearing that.

I've calmed down after reading a bit about it and realizing that I'm not in heart failure right now.... hopefully.... I mean.... -

My echocardiogram results say:

LV EF by Simpsons method (biplane) is 45.2%
Borderline mild global LV hypokinesis
Indeterminate LV diastolic function
Normal everything else

Doctors treatment plan:

Metoprolo succinate 24mg
Valsartin 40mg
Get labs in a week to check liver after starting meds
Revisit in 3 months

My treatment plan additions:
Learn about everything that can improve this condition and do it.

My resting BP is already pretty low, 90ish of 50ish. My BP during the stress test was 127/77. I was worried that blood pressure medications weren't going to be the right way to treat this, but I read that they do impact remodeling of the heart, not just treat blood pressure. I'm going to have to be careful about being light headed when standing up and stuff. I hope I can tolerate them.

Wish you the best. I've heard that the meds work miracles on EF%.
Hopefully you'll see good changes in the months to come. If they try to get you to start taking spironolactone I'd really think twice about it. That's the one that acts like an anti-androgen.
