The pendulum is starting to swing back 5 years before I thought it would

Actually very few people (if any) actually feel better on a ketogenic diet. The laws of physiology do not change from person to person . . . even Atkins acknowledged this in his last book.

Human adult brains have a VERY limited capacity to run on ketones. Mother Nature designed babies to have a greater capacity for gray matter to burn ketones but the best teleological explanation is Mother Nature wanted baby brains to be durable during a developmental period when they have minimal control over their access to food.

As for the Desi . . . visit India or Pakistan some day. There are some damn fine women . . . albeit they are spaced out a bit. :D

Grizz, have some compassion for us white boys. That Paki chick was nasty.

Hey, atleast I posted one of the ones who bother to take care of her snatch. I should go find one of the typical girls(fat, butt ugly and super fucking hairy) and post it. Then you'll feel the pain.

I have been getting feedback from people on this topic for nearly 8 years and you're wrong. Many people feel MUCH better in ketosis. Many feel like shit, many don't care. In my experience, folks who feel best on high carbs feel terribly in ketosis and folks who feel terrible on high carbs feel better in ketosis.

Recent research by Rolls has suggested the existence of a high and low fat phenotype, a genetics/environment interaction where some people are better adapted to using fat (and by extension, NOT using carbs) for fuel.

And the human brain has quite an ability to ADAPT to running on ketones, said adaptation taking 3 or more weeks to be completed. Many people give up before they are through the adaptation phase. which is not to say that they wouldn't still feel like shit but your statement that few feel better is flatly contradicted by real world experience.

Of course idiosyncratic circumstances and individualization determine optimum nutrition. High carb/low fat/high protein is ideal IMO for those who conduct high volume anaerobic training for the reasons Ive stated, but namely that you burn carbs during this exercise and your glycogen is rarely full. One engaging in low volume activity or who is sedentary would have full glycogen levels very easily and could get fat very easily on high carbs. For those people a more balanced diet, such as Zone or a cyclical keto might be ideal. The key is your glycogen storage level.

There are a few other issues to consider but the above basically sums it up. There'll be a monster article (took me about 11 pages to cover it all) on my website next month looking at them.
